Hi All,
Please help me before I go bananas... Recently (last month, maybe?) there was a thread question asking about a recipe for a scottish cheesecake tart.

Do you mean this thread ... https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2544919
And a quick question of my own ... I'm just about to boil a ham and wondering do i remove the elastic and plastic wrapping before I boil it. I've already removed the outer wrapping, just wondering about the inner one?0 -
mto... THANK-YOU for that, I could kiss you! mwah! ;-)
I can answer your question for you... remove the plastic and keep the elastic on if its this sort - kind of like white stretchy string, not elastic band type. If it is the flat elastic band type then remove it!
Also, the best recipe for ham I ever found was to boil (well, bring to boil and then simmer) the ham in full fat coke (was a Nigella recipe from deep south america) HAS to be normal coke, NOT diet- sounds horrid but is fantastic! You will need a 2litre bottle, can be supermarket own but not value cheap stuff. You can let the ham cool slightly afterwards and then remove elastic and cover in honey and mustard or your choice of basting and then oven bake for an hour to get a coating. I usually make one for bar-b-q's along with a roast chicken and get LOADS of compliments ;-)

Hello
This isn't an OS question so I hope no-one objects to me posting it here - I just know that, if anyone will know the answer to this, my fellow OSers will!
I have a helium balloon which my work colleagues bought me for my birthday last week. It's now starting to deflate and I'm not sure how to get rid of the gas inside - do I just stick a pin in it like a normal balloon (but do so outside, I assume), or does the helium need special disposal?
Thanks very much!Back after a very long break!0 -
Just a pin will do fine. Sometimes you can unstick them and they can be reused, too. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

I hadn't thought of the possibility of reusing it. I'll have to try now, just to see if I can get it to work!
Thanks very much for your help.Back after a very long break!0 -
there was a thread on OS a few weeks ago about finger marks on the front of kitchen cupboard doors. I am useless at the search facility so am wondering if anyone could find the thread for me!
Many Thanks
