Bay Tree Cottage Have a look here on Delia's site. There's a whole bit on eggs. Hope this helps.

Donquine Wash the jacket on as hot a wash as you can which should get rid of mould. Maybe try soaking it & giving a gentle rub on the patch beforehand. I have personally washed kids waterproofs with mould on like this & they've been fine afterwards with no ill effects. I think that the washing kills off any baddies. HTH.
  • Does anyone have an OS way of cleaning a pongy kitchen sink drain.
I would usually use Demestos drain cleaner or similar, but I am trying not to use any harsh chemicals in the house anymore.

    TIA!

Molly Put a couple of spoonfuls of bicarbonate of soda in your plughole & then pour vinegar onto it. It fizzes up a lot :D Give it 5 mins then pour a kettle of boiling water down too. I do it once a week to keep everything fresh & it works brilliantly. I read about it on this board somewhere but can't remember so can't credit the original poster :T
  • Thanks sunnygirl ! that just the kind of thing I was looking for, I will go and do it right now.

Any ideas as to how to take the edge off an extremely hot chilli con carne? I made a big batch yesterday - I usually use chilli flakes when I make it, but ran out of them, so substituted the remaining quantity with chilli powder, using the same quantity without remembering that the chilli powder was both denser and hotter than the flakes! Result: eight substantial portions (and they're all for me, via the freezer!) of blow-your-head-off-strength chilli.

Other than serving with a very generous dollop of natural yoghurt per portion, is there anything else I can do?

    Thanks!
