Are people still allowed to join this thread? Please, pretty please.... My name is vivatifosi and I am officially a cluttaholic. So much so that I have had an electric winch installed to my reinforced and boarded loft to put all of my clutter out of view. From there I want to take down a box or two a week (I have over 100 boxes) and so need support for the long haul. If I'm allowed to join in that is...

    Hi Viva,

Of course you are allowed to join, the more the merrier.

Hope your decluttering is more successful than mine, I have been trying for 18 months, and seem to be going backwards :rotfl:

Mind you, today I have taken some plastic filing cabinets to the tip, and have sorted three boxes, so might have a glass of wine (or two) to celebrate
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D
  • I really really need to join up for this challenge.....I am a serial hoarder having done car boots and such for years, I find it hard to chuck stuff and I also end up taking other peoples stuff cos I cant bear to see good money thrown away....I am an avid freecycler and I now have a second hand baby equip shop so lots gone there but still I have way to much in my small house, my brother had to board out my attic to accomodate it all. Stupid thing is I really hate clutter it makes me stressed but still I cant seem to streamline....so wish me luck its gonna be tough.

I started a new job on Sunday which means that I am unable to go to bed in the evenings before work. The shifts are 11.5 hours.
This has benefitted us because it means that DH can come straight home from work and get on with doing some painting or what have you.
I'm starting to teach the kids about how to do household chores that need to be done daily. My kitchen is now being kept on top of which is giving me a little more time for decluttering.
Since my last update, In: 2 pints of milk. Out: 5 milk bottles on step, 2 black sacks ready for bin day 6 inches off my hair (so I could get the NIT comb through it as DH doesn't get involved in that & I don't think I'd trust him) 4 black sacks of DD's toys given to a friend at work with a my little pony aged daughter with a birthday next week. (They are v. v. skint and have no family to help out so DD was well chuffed that she was giving little girl a present). Also out from DD's bedroom 1 bag of paper rubbish. 1 bag rubbish from bathroom.

I need to get my hair cut properly but every time I see my friend and say about getting it done DD comes hoome with the little blighters. I will get her to do it whe DD has been clear for 1 week & I'm absolutely sure I've not got them. Eurgh!

I can see the clutter improving and I love it!

    Over the past 2 days:

    In:
    grocery shopping
    new boxer shorts for DH

    Out:
rubbish & recycling (inc more paperwork & a glass bottle from an out of date bottle of cough syrup)
1/2 bin liner of clothes to scout group for fundraising
2 boxes for Operation Christmas Child to scout group (included in there are some unwanted magazine freebies, so some clutter gone)
old printer cartridge to recycling via tesco (clubcard points!)
3 items returned to m&s from online order via PO
(hopefully gone later) Box of stuff placed on freecycle - all bits I've placed on there individually & not wanted - hoping someone will have for car boot (I don't usually let it go for onward sale, but I'd just like this stuff gone now!)

Slow going, but today I need to do cleaning as opposed to decluttering, so I don't think I'll get any more added to the list today

Hope everyone else is making more progress than me!
