Hi, I have a house full of stuff and have now decided that enough is enough and I am going to start getting rid - Ebay, car boots, charity shops etc. with an aim to being more decluttered by the end of the year, and hopefully make some money along the way. Anyone else up for the great 2009 declutter?
I have read the Enough is enough - the great declutter up to page 145 and would like to start a new thread for the ones of us who are just starting out on the decluttering journey.
Hopefully the ones of you who are near the end of your decluttering can pop along and give us your support and tips.0 -

The current declutter thread is only up to page 57 (page 29 if you have 40 posts per page). Board Guides have been advised that threads can run to over 4000 posts, so I'll add this post to the existing thread.

I didnt say I was unhappy with this policy.
I was only saying I thought us newbie declutterers would like somewhere that was uncluttered to talk about our journey into a clean and clutter free house. Sorry if I offended with what I said, I didnt mean to upset anyone.0 -

However in the past couple of months or so it has got slightly better:
OUT

two small single wardrobes - to tipas couldn't dismantle them easily and they sort of fell apart.......
4 black ash bookcases (donkeys years) - to freecycle
2 part sets crockery (one of which was an engagement present over 20+ years old....:o), glasses and ice bucket, odd glasses, girls melamine plate and bowl - freecycle

4 beech effect bookcases
new pillows (stuffing from old ones to be washed and recycled into gifty things for Christmas fete), pillow protectors, fitted bedsheets, 4 new duvet covers (one to be made into pillowcases as they weren't included, one to be resized from superking to king), 7 matching cushion covers (down from £16.99 each to 99p each....:T)
New everyday crockery + matching glasses - finally found something we both liked....:rotfl::rotfl: OH has been moaning about mismatched plates for at least two years.....:o

brand new skirt (Adams) for DD2 - from charity shop
PENDING OUT
Old bedding now surplus to requirements (double fitted sheets, ancient duvet covers, etc) - probably freecycle or charity shop
old curtains from small bedroom (must have been up at least 14 years)
Some books - new bookcases don't hold so much but then again don't take up so much room..... - to school summer fete bookstall
outgrown clothes/shoes - ebay, charity shop, recycling depending on condition.
old placemats - pta white elephant

Must try to get back to posting each day.
essexgal;)old enough to know better, young enough not to care;)0 -
OUT:
- loads and loads of garden rubbish - 5 or 6 supermarket bags.
- old passbooks and credit cards, cut up - half thrown away, waiting to throw the other half until after the next bin collection, for security's sake.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I'm a good girl - I went to the local pagan moot last night, and took some stuff for the bring'n'buy table that I'd had sitting around for years gathering dust.
In fact, so "dust-gathering" were the two items, that I had to search for them for 10 minutes before I found where I'd stashed them!
And I didn't buy anything else to bring home!:A LOL
I don't often contribute to this thread, but I'm feeling pleased with myself.:pIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
