Well Done Moonflower.
Teenagers a bit old for my stratagy, when my boys were little and EVERY toy in the house was scattered hither and thither I used to get out the vaccum and say "whats on the floor will be going up the vac I ne to clean the carpet" they'd rush round shifting everything. It was some time before they worked out that BIG things wouldnt fit up the vac hose. LOL"The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0 -

I went shopping with my birthday money yesterday, but forgot to take bag to charity shop! So I've bought loads of stuff into the house, but not got rid of too much this week.
In
T-shirt, dress, two necklaces, two belts, scarf, ten pairs of knickers, five pairs of socks and a pair of gorgeous Skechers trainers - all from shopping spree.
Also received trinket box, bracelet, set of six coasters, ornament, bottle of wine and box of chocs - belated birthday presents from sister and her boyfriend.
Out
Magazine and old paperwork into recycling
Three pairs of socks and three pairs of knickers into 'rag bag' under the sink
Mousemat into charity bag
Ripped rucksack and non recyclable packaging from new clothes into bin
Pending
Charity bag WILL go next Saturday
Have taken pictures for about half of the items I have to sell on Ebay, but not listed anything yet
Sister will take the foldaway bed in the spare room off me as I'm getting a proper single bed from my parents, but not until next weekend.
I said I would have a go at implementing the 'one in, one out' policy, but haven't done very well due to just not having enough time! I'm concentrating on clearing the spare room at the moment, and haven't had time to go through my clothes other than my underwear drawer!0 -
OUT:
- big stack of old, damaged and mis-matched skirting boards to recycle
IN:
-new skirting boards
- paint for renovated stool & chairI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Over the weekend cleared out the spare room junk cupboard and cleared out the filing cabinet and got all the piles of paperwork that seem to breed overnight filed away.
Out
2 black bags of paperwork
black bag of teddies
PSone & games
books
bag rubbish
old phone
out of date food
2 rugs
In
Sander & sandpaper
Two replacement rugs
Tubing for tidying wires behing tv0 -
Well I got rid of some more stuff this weekend, all good so it's going to the nearest charity shop.
Pair of smart black trousers
padded jacket
6 more books
3 old video cassettes
4 CDs
Then I threw out into the recycling box a lot of old magazines and work documents duly torn up in small pieces.
I'd say the total "riddance" is equivalent to a large black bin liner full of stuff. And I'm hoping to find more to banish from my flat.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Hi - can I join you?
I am drowning under masses of 'stuff' and really need a kick up the * to sort out the house and get it on the market.
I had a good weekend - tried to find something in the conservatory (glory hole no 4) which I didnt find - ended up having to buy one on ebay...
...but sold my double buggy, freecycled a standard lamp, 30 ! pots and testers of paint, 2 offcuts of carpet. Today - a duvet set and tablerunners and napkins are being collected at lunchtime from freecycle, and I am posting 6 cds from amazon.
The garage is full, the loft is full and we even have a storage unit. I cant cook easily as everything is out on worktops as it doesnt fit in the cupboards (only partly bad design!!)
HELP!!!!!!0 -
Managed a general clean around and some more stuff in the recycling this weekend as we had people staying. Have a week off work shortly so will be blitzing things then and taking stuff to the charity shops etc.
Sold a book on Green Metropolis at the end of last week and posted that off so that's gone too and still getting through my cosmetics with a combination of selling and using up thanks to the 100 days challenge on Debt Free board and nothing's coming in cosmetic wise :j:j
