Hello
Just wanted to pop on to this thread as I'm very excited.I finally bought some liver! It was a chance find - a pack of chicken livers in Mr T that were reduced to a bargainous 49p:T
... Now I stuck them in the freezer and am thinking of making a casserole with lentils and veg on saturday (does that sound like an alright use of them?). Thing is they were in a plastic bag inside the tray, and they looked a bit... liquid, so do I boil them in the bag or something?Do I need to rinse them?
No instructions on the pack  Have to be a bit careful so housemate doesn't suss me out, she's a microwave meal girl and is freaked out by my lentil concoctions, let along starting to cook with offal!! :rotfl:

I braise lamb's liver, and that comes almost double packed - though not in an inner bag. Once opened there is a lot of juice - and I must admit I tend to throw those as I'm a little suspicious of them
As to rinsing.... I used to, but haven't done for several years

Feeling a bit smug, because: A) Almost completeted Xmas shopping, coming in under budget. and B)My xmas fund owed me £5 because I bought DD interactive cubes for £5 at MR A, with grocery money. So with this I bought River Cottage cookbook from Smiths using discount coupon, downloaded and printed from here:D Ofcourse feeling a bit like a naughty school girl and checked to see no one I knew was in the shop.:o :rotfl: Thanks all for this great site receipes and tips are fab:T

I just need to get this straight in my head about these coupons. Is it right that I can buy a book for £10 and get £5 off, so only having to actually pay out £5? Only it says on the coupon that the total spend has to be £10 after all discounts have been applied, so I thought I had to buy a book for £15, get £5 off and still spend £10
yours, confused0 -
Hi Lesley, just as you said. In the case of the river cottage book you would only pay a fiver - total bargain!! I have used a couple of those vouchers for books like that, great!!Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000

nice to see you weezl ,pleased you liked the soaps i have been a bit lax with soapmaking at the mo mostly due to the cost of oil,the veg kind not the middle eastern barrels
The recipes were my own so no links i am afraid but i could let you have the recipes if you are au fait with the process
I worry about safety for people who don't understand the process i must admit i cant even get the fragrance bit right i always feel soft but the smell doesn't linger the orange and poppy seed one i sent you ........did the colour fade mine have but its still OK to use i like the massage the bits give especially on my sore neck and back
Shaz
I would love to see your soap recipes as well; I've made some before but only very basic stuff and I'd love to have a go at something a bit different, maybe for Christmas presents if it turns out well.
Very bad luck on the spondylitis; I've a bit of osteoperosis and that's bad enough so I really do sympathise!0 -
Hi all, these may not be as good as shaz's soaps but it may give some idea of the process.

oo thanks bob will have a lookie! Am determined not to pay more than 100 for all my christmas pressies!! this means innovative making and must get a move on!! One Idea I had was to sew a quote on friendship etc and then frame it for various close friends...cheap and all under 5 me thinks but will take time! Thats great re the fleeces - may have a look re the patchwork as wadding is hugely expensive!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1!
