• Well in truth I went back home for three weeks in August and since I got home it's been one thing after another going on, I started college and the course has been a bit harder than I expected, my boys have started their first gcse year, hubby's business has been really busy and we've tried to finish the decorating of our house, next week I start a new volonteering position and in a month my parents are coming over for nearly three weeks not to mention christmas is hurtling towards us at warp speed too!
Phew!
I really miss everyone here but there just hasn't been time to catch up until now.

I hope you have all been keeping well?

Could I ask yet another question about beans & things please? :o
I was reading all the packet fronts on the dried ones yesterday & noticed that PINTO are supposed to add protein where a good many others are more fibre....

Are there any strong opinions on:-
a) the flavour
b) the texture
c) price comparison with eg beef mince
d) would they be better in a pork/chicken combo
e) the credibility of bulking up on veg.vs.meat protein

If nowt else, I figure it will appeal to the geeks among us :D & even tho I'M game to try them, I can't afford to make a huge error with a main meal that would have to be thrown away :o

Morning everyone

Well it has been a funny ole week.
DH pulled his back out on Sunday and had a horrible cold at the same time. His cold has finally left him but however has found its way to me and I feel miserable! Have played nurse all week but am grateful that he is able to finally move around a bit now even if it is under the of drugs!

I have beef stew in the slow cooker and will add dumplings to it later today. I have been searching for but have not been able to find the recipe for Weezle's Turkey leg curry thing! I want to make it this weekend as if it cant be made in the slow cooker this weekend no one will be eating as I just really do not want to cook.

I know the recipe is somewhere but I have not been able to find it yet, just think I dont have the patience at the moment to keep searching. If anyone has it or can point me to the right page I would be most grateful!

Going to strip the bed and wash the bedding, finish off my real work and then this weekend I am hoping to do nothing but curl up under blankets, watch films, cross stitch and generally do absolutely nothing else!

Will be back a bit later....thank you in advance and I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

Kath xx

Thank you very much for this!! It has saved me stacks of time and think it will be dinner on Sunday! Now just have to figure out what I am throwing in the slowcooker for Saturday unless of course DH decides to have a bash at making tea instead! Bless him.

Thank you again

• Weezl, as you are the star attraction of this thread I would be quite happy to see 10 posts a day from you, however trivial you might think they were, you can tell us whatever you like, the weather if you want :) I for one would still find it fascinating

Munchki, you're very welcome. :D

Bit of a funny (as in laugh :rotfl: ) morning with the cakes - why is it that when you do them for yourself, they all come out great but the minute you need to cook some for someone else it's a complete disaster  !

Victoria sponge (probably the best one i've ever made taste wise !) stuck to the greaseproof paper and came out very 'rustic' looking so can't possibly take that to the church craft fair tomorrow :o (DD doing a cake stall with the guides).

My greaseproof paper that was covering the top of my fruitcake caught fire  (gas oven) and it's taking ages to cook now ! I managed to get all of the ashes out of the top of the cake (I think !) :shhh: :rotfl:

And i've now run out of eggs !

I've got the decorator in painting the pipes from when the new central heating system was installed and I'm getting a headache from the fumes !

Back on topic :o:p ........ we're having chicken and bacon pasta tonight - approx 50p per head, not my best cost per head but I'm leading my first Guide meeting tonight so need something quick, easy and not too difficult (going on the performances with the cakes this morning !)

I'm not stressed - honest !!! :D  :rotfl:
