    Hello
I think that when they are older disposables make them harder to potty train too. My DD was born in the late 80s and disposables weren't nearly as absorbent, we used a mixture of both, she was dry day and night really quickly. DS came along six years later and the disposables were so much better he didn't see the point of going to the loo as he was quite comfortable and didn't have to stop playing with his toys, as he told me quite rationally lol.

    Hi ellawood,

    I use this washing powder:

cos I think asda may have stopped the smartprice stuff?

cleaning wise I'm a stardrops fan, but have been using up leftovers from our lodgers moving out, and from my brothers tenants leaving loads behind :money::money::money:

but generally, yes, I do include it in the budget... I even buy cillit bang too! :)

Well I followed a tip on here that if you use half the amount of powder you usually use then top it up with soda crystals it has the same result. So now I use 3 tablespoons of soda crystals straight into the bottom of the drum and put one tablet in (supposed to use 2). A 1kg bag of soda crystals costs about 50p from Wilkos and it's ACE for getting stains out.

They've got TONNES of uses too! Not sure how much cheaper it would make your laundry if at all...
