Weezl thanks for the information regarding the ASDA olive pomice oil am going to look into this, it seems a bargain! Elderflower cordial sounds lovely, I went to a wedding last Saturday and was served this instead of alchohol it was really refreshing. I will be interested to know how it turns out, good luck with it!
Its hot here (Pontypridd if any one knows where that is!) today, we are having lamb burgers that I found reduced to a third of the price last week at Morrisons (4 for 90p) in homemade bread rolls and some salad I found with a yellow sticker at Asda 25p for a mixed bag yesterday. Will also grate some carrots to go with this and add some bite. See, am taking the suggestions I recieved here about using up any veg lurking in my fridge very seriously!
Have a lovely afternoon everyone!0 -
Hiya
I'm going to give this okay if its okay to join, 50p sounds a very small amount a day but i'm sure if others can do it and my shopping bill is getting higher and higher each week so have to do something!Sealed pot challenge - £400 no.4910 -
My lemon and lime sorbet was yum. I used:
A cup of water,
Half a cup of lemon and lime juice (fresh lemon, bottle lime juice)
4 ounces of icing sugar. (the recipe called for more, but I tried to make it with as little sugar as possible)
I heated the water and sugar together until it was a syrup, and then I added the juice until it was tart enough for me (the recipe I was using said a cup, but half was fine).
I left it to cool and then I put it in the freezer. After an hour I took it out and put it in a jug and blended it. I repeated that twice over the subsequent 2 hours.Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -

hiya liz, lovely to see you and of course very welcome to join in! Just one thing tho, I have upped our amount to £1 a day each to include health and beauty and to allow for new parenthood and food price inflation over the last year! Just didn't want you to feel conned when you saw we were spending a bit more!

You can use chickpea/besan/gram flour (all names for basically same thing), which is more traditionally used for bhaji - I do know someone that has substituted plain flour and said they were good, but I'm not sure I would try that personally.
They are good, I made them last week (came across the recipe elsewhere, then found it was one here already - thats the internet for you!)0 -
well.... 9 year old neice gave the elderflower cordial a 9 out of ten, MIL and FIL really liked the raspberry ripple ice cream and we've harvested 2 carrier bags of nettles! have also made a huge amount of chocolate ice cream. So a very sucessful weekend
