Dear Mary43,
I just wanted to say I am thinking of you and am very sorry to hear about your mum. I don't know quite the right words to say, but just wanted to give you my regards at this sad time,
(Good to hear about your hospital news though as well)
Take care of yourself,

Thankyou all for your kindness and support. I've not had time yet to work out how I really feel.........so much to do and people to phone ect. added to which brother seems to want me there s.a.p. - I could do with a few days unwinding to be honest. Mention was made by solicitors of 'grant of probate' and as far as I can tell mums assets will be frozen until this is sorted though I could be wrong. Its all a whole new world to me. Maybe the bldg.society can enlighten my brother on this - he deals with that side of things. All rather a nightmare when you've never dealt with it before,.
Still, lessons learned all the time and so far the easiest people to deal with were the pensions dept. which surprised me a bit.
Feel I've done my bit for now and am about to flop on the sofa and relax -or try to......................lolMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

I think you are allowed funeral and associated expenses before probate, Mary. From what I can remember when my mum died, anyway. Ask your mum's current account holders.0

so sorry to hear of the loss of your mum; yet relieved to hear that your biopsy was clear.
I'm sure that it will take some time for the reality to filter through & you will be very busy just organising & seeing to practical things. Please take time for yourself & remember that whatever emotion you are feeling at any one time is perfectly acceptable, for as long as it takes ; & be sure to lean on those who offer support.
My thoughts are with you
