    Hello virtual friends:j:j
Am sending positive thoughts your way Mary!
On the subject of different ways of looking at the world I have found interfaith meetings to be very interesting. Firstly they're free [thrify that!] and it gives me a chance to learn about others views in a non threatening environment.

Well - think I'd better give the link for that BeliefNet test - for anyone who cant find it:

    http://www.beliefnet.com/Entertainment/Quizzes/BeliefOMatic.aspx

Oh - well - that makes quite a few of us who cant resist doing those "who and what are you?" type quizzes that magazines frequently feature...:D
  • I don't really have much to offer today, but just wanted to add my best wishes and positive thoughts to Mary43 and OH for next week.:hello:

Take care Mary, and catch up with you soon.

still working my way through the first thread - currently page 121 (not long now;) ) and the topics varying as always but plenty of talk about being more self reliant/sufficient - as in what if i couldn't get out of the house for a week/fortnight /month.... it got me thinking - what if i was laid up - sudden illness or summat - i'd have no wage coming in, and only minimal stocks to survive on - probably a week to two weeks max (and there'd be some very strange meals in that mix) .

off now to plan stocking up programme !! already have a 2 month supply of loo roll - 16 for a fiver at netto today so thats a start - lol!
credit card debt at LBM Nov 2006 £11,300:eek:
credit card debt now £0000000000000!!! :j

I could resist no longer, especially when Ceridwen posted the link. It was spot on for me too, with Liberal Quakers 100% and Neo Pagan at 96%. Funny thing, I was browsing the Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre website only yesterday and thinking that one day I will spend time on one of their courses.

Maybe our spiritual path in life chooses us rather than the other way around? After all we don't all have the same tastes in food, or music, so one belief would not suit all. Perhaps it just requires that we develop the capacity to listen for clues. I sometimes feel the pull even when I am going through one of my agnostic phases.

Don't forget the cleaning materials/cosmetics/bits and bobs - like lightbulbs, matches, etc.

.....and then sit back and grin broadly if it snows again.....as you dont have to go shopping:D

Dont forget too - the mind needs to be kept occupied...as well as the stomach filled, etc.....errrr....think you might just find a few links of interest in that respect on my blog (see my homepage). Back nearer the beginning - you can find links for all sorts that will interest someone who has had the perseverance to read right through Thread 1 on this:D - thinks.....seem to recall theres a link somewheres there for Google Films for entertainment purposes (and they have some good information ones as well).

Think thats probably the case Charis.....Liberal Quakers came about 4th/5th place for me when I did the quiz.

Personally - I would say that possibly Quakers are the nearest to "homebase" for someone with an analytical/questioning attitude to life and who likes a bit of more "intellectual" type debate on the one hand and/or of a more "mystical" persuasion on the other hand. I would say it could be a "homebase" for you because of the first element of this equation in your case.:D Its a church that would understand the agnostic phases as well. Sounds pretty compatible for you from what I know of you:D

...and back in a very neat circle - having checked out my secondary "rating" on the Beliefnet Quiz - which was "New Age" and I duly came up with:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_living

which has a useful list of Simple Living books at the end of the article:D
