i'm now pondering any holes in walls etc. that i might be able to remedy!

That's where I found it so useful, when I moved into this very very old and sadly neglected house there were holes all over the place - particularly above/below/around the skirting boards - which means draughts and creepies, of course; duct tape solved many problems here.

Not sure I'd go for the duct tape boots but I bet it works! ;)

    hi all,

hope you are all having a peaceful day. i have just popped on here to try and calm down as mine has been hectic as normal (we run our own taxi firm). just had a very very rude person on the phone, who without even an introduction, not even a hello! started screaming and swearing at me about how we had left "stranded" at her front door after we had patiently waited and waited for her to come out. i stayed calm despite her colourful use of language  .

i felt quite angry tho that she thinks its ok to go about yelling at people like that and now i just feel a bit sad really - what's wrong with some folk? there's just no need to be soooo aggressive.

have previously answered this kind of aggressive behaviour with a " yeah, ok, thanks for screaming at me - i'll definately send you a car now"
but sometimes that makes me feel no better either. lol!

thankfully no such screamers here. phew! feel better already.

firework, what a horrible thing to happen, glad you kept your cool, which shows you are way above her. I was shocked when I first had to deal with the 'public' - I was quite disheartened to find so many were rude, ignorant, cheating. There was always the other side of the coin though, people that I considered it a pleasure to deal with and thankfully these were in the majority :D

Firework, I'm in retail.... I get yelled at on a daily basis, sworn at on at least a weekly one and have had something thrown at me during my time here. And I know it isn't me, to give an example of how good my customer service is, I've been mystery shopped twice at 100%, received 2 consecutive gold awards for it and got choccys from 3 customers at Xmas to say thanks.

Some people are rude, ignorant and have no compassion. Their sole wish is to pass on their foul temper to others and make the rest of the world as miserable as they are.... and their numbers seem to be on the rise.

The sooner I'm out of retail, the better.

never mind... as you say rosieben the nicer ones are in the majority, and like you softstuff i've had some good tips and lovely pressies of some of my customers so i try not to take the nasties to heart.

speaking of work... been trying to de clutter and re-organise my work folder which used to be terrifically organised until colleagues said it was too complicated. so i let it become one big mish mash eeek! it's been a mess now for (was going to say months) probably a couple of years , with us just muddling through day by day. i have decided to go back to super organised - it's me who deals with the file on a daily basis anyway!

bought a 10-pack of a4 dividers for 37p in asda and last night took the plunge and waded through the file. had a good old sort out of alot of old junk paperwork and sorted the rest into a basic order which will be fine tuned over the next week.

was going to use those dividers to set up a "home" file - found a lovely pearlescent pink a4 lever arch file in the loft the other day and decided to use that rather than buy something smaller just for the job. in all honesty i will probably need the larger file anyway!

one of my BIG problems is day to day type paperwork - post, personal bills to be paid, notes to self, shopping lists, menu plans etc which i can then never find when i need them - it sprawls across worktops, through drawers and all over the dining table all the time. so decided to round it all up, hole punch it and pop it in my big file. so that's my job for today - hopefully at the end the house will look alot tidier and i will be able to find what i want. will of course have to get another set of dividers but think i can justify the 37p for those.

firework - how awful to have someone shout at you like that.........I can never see why people lose it as they do and can only thing something else must be bothering them and they choose to take it out of someone/anyone. Very sad people.

You do seem to be getting organised. I'm slowly burying myself underneath piles on photos in an effort to organise them a bit more. Got one done for baby grandson (easy -he's only 18mth old), and teenage grandchildren (twins) -they're 16 so there's a lot more photos of them. Did one for my son who died when he was five so needed to try and work out how many pages I would need exactly..........seemed to take forever but I found a little one that fits the bill. Did one for my son this morning -having to make sure I leave plenty of room to add more.
Getting sick of looking at all of them now and had to come up for air........!!
Just when I'd cleared my little room here I've now covered the desk top with a shoe box full of photos and on the floor there are still 6 that have photos in them:eek: I'll do the old black and white ones next of Mum and Dad and some when we were kids. Also got some of first OH's family that can go in the same one so all the black and white ones are together.

Keep telling myself that itll be easier to find a photo when I've finished .........if I ever do..............:rotfl:
