Droopsnout don't go. You've been on since nearly the beginning of pigsback like me and your input has been invaluable.
I've been trying to avoid this ongoing "debate" but have been reading with growing disbelief. I think its so easy for anyone (not aimed at any particular poster before someone jumps down my throat) to take things out of context when they're reading a thread as sometimes people take things in a way in which they're not meant.
I do hope you and everyone else will continue to post. There are some very valid comments which I hope pigsback have taken/will take on board. There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.

I've just got this weeks sizzler with a new comp/prize. Write about a purchase you made through pigsback- prize? £100 love to shop vouchers.
Didn't take the time to read it thoroughly but it said £100 to give away every week or month

oh well... this is the whole Argos telly debate again: people get things for nearly free but get very upset like big babies if they dont get what they want right now. jeez, some people should take a chill pill...

What a horrible Tuesday evening. I feel ashamed to be associated with this thread. The comments were very personal and seemed to be directly attacking other users, which is wrong.
If you don't like what pigsback are doing then don't use the site...simple as. Personally, I like the site, and so far pigsback have always been friendly and curteous towards me. I would completely understand if after this Darragh disappears completely. He is only trying to help us as best he can....and what do some here do? Attack him.
Although I wasn't involved in last night I hope that Darragh can see that this was only a minority and that most of us are really grateful for his involvement on MSE.
There are a few comments now on this thread that need deleting.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Wow, what a thread this has turned into!! Droopsnout, personally I would also say don't go, Im not totally in agreement with all of your complaints, but they are yours and you are entitled to them, so why shouldn't you make them, and as has been said you are always very civil about them so if you want to keep posting don't let it all get to you!
Secondly, I'm sorry but Innovate, just to give you an insight into the trouble created by complaining to Trading Standards, I can tell you that my company was investigated by Trading Standards by an unjustified gripe someone decided to have with my company. I wont go into the details of my company or the grounds of Trading Standards coming in, but I can tell you that even though in the letter Trading Standards sent to us, it in itself encouraged us that they thought there was no grounds but needed to look into it, we were required to respond. It took 15 letters, backlogs of paperwork that needed to be found to confirm our innocence, 8 months and a lot of stress to put the whole thing to bed on a very simple case of the other person lying in revenge. Not a very pleasent experience at all and created a lot of worry for us. At the end of it all, Trading Standards confirmed what we knew that we had done nothing wrong, but as I say it took 8 months to get that confirmation, just through a grudge. Trading Standards are fair people, but they have to investigate every complaint fully
Now, do you really want to / feel that it is just to inflict that on Pigsback? Up to you, but you really should consider the consequences before sending off any letters.
Personally, I feel like others that this whole complaints situation has got out of hand. And all I will say to everyone, is it is fair to state problems that you are having with Pigsback, and as Darragh is happy to come on the board then of course it is an opportunity to state your greivence and ask questions. But do we all really want to make him dread coming on here for a barrarge of abuse.
Turn the situation around and imagine that you have come into work, switched on your computer with the idea to solve problems and get suggestions for the company you work for and are faced with all of this. How would you feel to face this? Personally, I would dread it, and to be frank I would either completely give up if I had the choice or else appear only to satisfy my employer rather than continue to try to get results and improve things. So far Darragh has responded to everything trying to be witty and helpful where he can. So perhaps we should approach our issues with the same manor and show a little bit of patience and a little bit of understanding.0 -
Thanks to many for the kind comments.
The simple fact is that the Board has become unpleasant, and, worse, bad for MSE. Comments and views expressed by myself and others, sometimes read out of context and with no thought for things said in previous posts, have served mainly to polarise opinion and thus to create an unpleasant atmosphere.
In order for the thread to calm down, I think it best if I make no further criticisms of PB.
I agree with one or two other contributors who suggest in one or way or another that parts of this thread should be deleted, though I know that some will suggest that that would be censorship, and I have some sympathy for that view, too.
In the end, PB and individual views are just not as important as the community spirit on Boards such as this, and so, as I say, things need to calm down, and the best way for me to help that process is to refrain from posting.Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good. - Thomas Sowell, "Is Reality Optional?", 19930 -

This thread has become very personal and abusive, far beyond the level of criticism I have posted of PB. I hope a mod wipes it.
Consequently, I will take advice offered, i.e. sling my hook.
Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!
Please stay DS :A Your posts help make this an interesting and often amusing thread and us little piggies don't want you to go.
I'm sure it'll all calm down soon (fingers crossed) and it can get back to how it was ( A friendly, happy sty )

I'd just like to say i've been using pigsback ever since it launched here in northern ireland (a couple of years ago?) - long enough ago that i can't remember anyway. up until about a month ago i was just a casual user, getting the odd click through (but not understanding why), using it to get cheaper tickets in my local movie house cinema, money off video rentals, the odd 20% off pizza hut meal and the occasional free cinema ticket when i had saved enough points. not to mention the ireland getaway breaks which are v competitive.
then i found the pigsback discussions on here... i didn't realise you could boost your points greatly by visiting every day and clicking everything in sight, answering the quizzes etc. i was pleased because it's always nice to get something for nothing but i was shocked at the ferocity of some people's opinions on the threads here. YOU ARE GETTING SOMETHING FOR NOTHING. why go bonkers if a quiz hasn't been posted the minute the clock strikes midnight? it usually appears at some point through the day...
i appreciate that some people are miffed if they have exchanged piggypoints for vouchers and didn't get them, but i think the popularity of this board and the uptake of people subscribing to pigsback as a consequence has somewhat taken them by surprise. they don't have a particularly large amount of resources as they're still a growing company and i'm sure they are doing the best they can. if you don't like it... well stop using it and find some other source of "free" money like r points or something instead of posting page and pages of repetitive whinging here.0
