I'm going to find me a beach to sit on for Christmas!!
OOOHHH, brilliant thought - we were supposed to go to Florida for Christmas - 3 weeks from 15th dec - 5th Jan - but can't go now - long story includes changing jobs and getting messed about, but basically it is a no-go.
Anyway, WE HAVE PAID FOR 1 WEEK IN A 3 BED VILLA WITH HEATED POOL - IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN GOING, YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO IT AND THEN YOU ONLY HAVE TO PAY FOR 2 MORE WEEKS AND THE FLIGHTS (I know, only, but if you're thinking about it... I will dig out the link so you can see pics, etc...LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -

Flitting in and out although it has taken me ages to catch up on the thread!
:hello:to all the newbies!
pigpen - sarah shattered is spot on! Brilliantly put sarah.:T
kazwookie - save me a sunlounger, I'm coming too!
boddy - happy to hear that your sleep in went well. I hope you have a nice break with your friend tomorrow.
No flying here today, but school went much better. I had a really good lesson with Year 7, and used the whiteboard on my own (before I had the PGCE student keeping any eye on me, and giving me the odd bit of quiet guidance!), may not sound much to those of you used to them, but it's a bit daunting managing it when you've a class of 30 lively 11 year olds keeping their beady eyes on you! I also had a very sweet boy who said quietly to me that I should just ask him if I needed any help! Even the Year 9's are improving. I have to confess that I am currently bribing one group with stickers and chocolate for good behaviour and work. Just to prove that years of being a parent have paid dividends...:D
polkadot - my sister's favourite technique with toxic so called friends, is to be extremely nice to them. It usually disconcerts them. You don't have to be close, just be very pleasant and smile. You know that you don't mean it, but you haven't descended to their level. By the way, the wooden bit halfway up the wall is called a dado, and is designed so that when you put chairs against the walls, the chair back doesn't damage the wallpaper. Often a feature in Victorian houses, and they often have another narrow rail, about two foot or so down from the ceiling, which is the picture rail, used for - hanging paintings from! Are the doors you mentioned pannelled ones, and with a frame bit with lots of levels - I can't explain very well! Absolute pain to paint, but again, often found in older houses.
:hello:hi dusty! All my wallflowers were eaten by slugs this year, although I sowed twice, so I'm very envious! I think I'll look at my tulip catalogue, and buy some bulbs instead! It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
