Boddy Sounds like your sleep in wasn’t too bad?
Pigpen No advice but I don’t envy you the decision. Still, you know you’ll make the right one.
Tag and Valli I went in to the pound saver earlier and they had such lovely coloured pegs. I thought of you and how proud you would be of me when I told you about my new bucket of pegs...then I remembered I don’t have a garden, nevermind a washing line! See what you did

Craftyscholar Im not a lurker myself but I have always wondered that....if people are peeking at me then how do I get to peek at them peeking at me? (but then you’re not always a lurker either. It must be the green lights?

I got the boots run done and also had a squizz in the cancer shop and poundsaver. Got a magazine rack from cancer shop for a fiver. Then I went to poundland. Glad I did the christmas list yesterday as I was able to buy:
      [*]60 cards for £2
[*]A big roll of brown paper for gift wrap for £1
[*]12 Candy canes for £2 For hot chocolate mugs
[*]3 Pink and white polkadot mugs for the ladies on my list £1 for 3.
[*]3 advent calendars for £1 each (pooh for me, thomas for DS and Homer for DF-need to find out when ex/bm is coming down to establish if we need another for him.

So now I can cross those off my list...um and go look for the cards coz I know I unpacked them but can't remember where I put them.
Off to post my list and then look through meal folder for supper(There seems to be an awful lot of lamb in the freezer now)

Pigpen re the course, well I know you'll make your own mind up but here are a few thingys to consider.;)

At the mo you don't drive, this means only option is public transport or a car share.

Having done some serious commutes with Uni's and being the mature student I really felt I missed out on so much happening at Uni because it was always too far to travel back from. This meant I missed out on all the social events that went on in an evening but also popping to the uni library was nigh on impossible.

Because I had to drive 75+ miles each way just to get home. Obviously the pre school placements shut and so did the after school clubs at around 6.00pm so evening study at Uni was impossible. This in turn made my essay writing longer and more labourious for me as I couldn't readily check info at the library.

I also couldn't socialise with my fellow mates because I lived so far away. This included impromptu 'meet ups' to discuss particular subjects and essays which would generate fantastic ideas and shared knowledge and is really helpful if you were stuck in a particular area. So they would all have essays completed and I would be the one always asking for extensions.:o

The commute would add a lot of time onto my (and my then little girls) day, it wasn't unusual to not get home until gone 7.30pm and they wouldn't have eaten either. Then I'd start making tea. I wish I'd have known about slowcookers then.

Anyway what I'm saying is if I was able to do it again then it would have to be local for me for all the reasons I have given above. Nonewithstanding the cost of transporting yourself backwards and forwards daily or whenever.

Anyway if you go 'local' I can always give you a lift in the evening to [STRIKE]get smashed out of our faces at the uni bar[/STRIKE] go studying in the uni library.:D

Have a think hun and see what transpires, there is always York and across the big bridge as well.

Mudbath, Dusty, kaz, thank you xxxx
Toots we'll all be thinking of you x
soappie hope the traffic wasn't too bad
Penny how lovely to see you posting :D I'm up for having HHCBs :D
Pigpen, I am confident you will make the right decision
Mudbath good luck with the dog picking, I have a couple spare if you need one, the old girl is 11, objects to too many walks but is a pest for 'bin raiding' and the youngest loves chasing bunnies and hedgehogs, the hedgehogs he likes bringing in the house and trying to play football with them. :D let me know if you want one of them :rotfl:

Well after I posted last night I did myself a 'before meeting list' so did a few things inc loading DW, washer and spraying cleaning stuff on the bathroom before I left, so was all just to empty and wipe off when I got back which went well. I just need to allocate my time better and ignore DP (who objects to me going to these meetings because I'm not there for him I think!!!) then I will be pretty much sorted, well ish :D

I wish in a way I wasn't so busy at the minute but what I am involved with is so vitally important to me and the future of children in our area I don't want to not be involved. If only it was the only thing I had to do with my time it'd be great, but that's not what life is about of course :)

Kids swimming soon but have bagged packed ready, only thing I need to find is my car keys.....must have put them down somewhere when I got in. Just given one of my new starters directions, I really hope they find it :o I'm useless at directions.

Catch up with you all about 9pm ish, be good :D
One day I might be more organised...........

For what it's worth, (and given that I don't know you... only what I've gleaned from here) here's my opinion.....

You sound like an extremely determined, and intelligent woman. I don't think you'll be satisfied with a compromise decision. I could be wrong about that.... But I'm guessing not! :p

I honestly believe you should throw yourself heart and soul into the thing you really want to. Anything else will result in long term b*tching and whinging and general p*ssed offness..... (and ultimately that can't be good for us on here :rotfl: :rotfl: )

Once you get fully informed, you'll able to make the best decision for all of you. ;)
