Afternoon all
Not a lot of flying done today (oh ok, none!), but then that's cos it's a work day, and I'm doing the bedlinen tomorrow anyway.
However, I have done one MAJOR (well, major to me!) thing ... I've mown the lawn. Now, you may think that this is unremarkable, and maybe it is ... but it's just not been dry enough or I've had washing out and didn't want grass stained washing. But today has been warm enough to dry the towels and to mow the lawn :j:j.
You cannot believe how happy this makes me!
PigPen - doing a degree as a mature student with extra responsibilities is a different kettle of fish, whether you're doing it locally or not. I think that if you really fancy it, go for it. You only live life once. It is a heck of a commute .. but ... with your DH's assistance, you can do this. Especially if you look at it as going to work full time, and therefore doing the studying at Uni in the library during those times when you are not in lectures, and therefore NOT burning the midnight oil on studying.
Polkadot - yes, dirt seems to be showing up more aggressively in places the cleaner the house gets. And not helped by DH putting a sodding great handprint on the hall curtain lining ... grrrrr ....
Joanne - I hope you and DD went out and enjoyed the sun. We haven't had a lot of it.

Mothers ebay stuff paid for.. gammon in oven.. off to shop then I am going to stitch the header tape to this other curtain so it is ready to hang.. I'll hem it with pegs until my house guests leave on Monday and sort the proper hems then so I'm not disturbing their things.
Shop.. dinner in.. header tape.. bath and deflea chimps.. apparently there are at least 3 hoppy kids in DD4's class.. no wonder she came home with 11 the very first day back!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Right.. do I apply for Leeds uni and travel 51 miles there... and back.. each day???????? OR.. Do I plump for one of the less appealling courses at the uni here??? (would probably be medicine and 5 years instead of 3 OR operating dept practice .. yes I am weird!)
I need guidance and I know you lot will be much better than the connexions here
Hi Pigpen - depends (I know, sorry, but it does) - do you really want to do the better course? (presume that's a yes) How are you at travelling? Is that driving or train, and if driving, what are the roads like? how long will your day be without the travel? and how many days a week?
I drive from Basildon to Hemel Hempstead nearly every day (50ish miles) when we're busy and at least twice a week normally (except this week). I don't mind it, but I am tired at the end of the week, so if you had to do it every day, would you be able to keep up with assignments, etc let alone family life (and you do have an exciting family life!)
The only problem I have found with my job is the traffic jams. I don't mind the drive, I tend to sing along to the radio or talk to myself - either way I'm happy... , but I have to travel the M25 from junction 30 to 21 - normally 55mins, but if it's heavy traffic (and being the M25 it normally is) it can take me over 2 hours! - I drive a vectra 2.0l diesel and use about £12 in fuel there and back - mainly because it is all motorway.
If travelling by train, you can at least have the journey to catch up on any work you have to do - no distractions and people calling you (specially if you turn off your phone, hehe) so this may be your best option if your home and the uni is close to the stations, but costs would obviously be more
If it's something you really want to do, AND you can do it in 3 years instead of 5, I would say definitly go for it! but if any of the above REALLY bothers you, would they bother you enough to make you quit halfway through?
I know that's not the answer you were looking for, but I hope it helps you mull things over some more - good luck!LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -

Hello lovelies!
Welcome to all newbies :hello:
Pigpen, can't add to what everyone else has said re: uni, so I'll just say, you'll come to the right decision eventually, and a big hats off to you for even thinking about it never mind doing it. Where you get all your oomph from I'll never know lol x
Hugs and hellos to everyone I've forgotten to mention, and there will be some
Took the day off work today as this morning I was really ill, couldn't swallow at all and felt yak, so re-arranged two jobs for next Mon & Tue and the other one skipped till next week, I didn't like it. I spent up till 2pm in bed reading then fell asleep and I've woken up feeling a bit better (in myself anyway) I've had some food and loads to drink and I've even found some energy for S&Sing - think I was bored more than anything else, I've even hung out the wet washing that's been sitting in the car since Mondaymust be careful though cause I don't want a relapse cause I've got work tomorrow.
It really makes me thankful that I have a job that I love, I would absolutely HATE to be in the house 24/7 again think it would drive me doolally (it almost did before) I love, love, love my job and all the people in it and everything *mushy mush mush* even been mushy with OH today and that's not like me, he thinks his luck's in lmao yeah right........... *DELETED* was deemed to rude for innocent flyladies, except Tia and pigpen oh and Dusty cause she's got loads of b/f's*
Gonna make a Lemsip cause my throat's hurting again....0 -

Hi toochoosey and welcome - if you want to read the chat, just skip those that are lists and read the rest, but if you want the lists and ideas, read the very first post and it will tell all! hope that helps.LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0
