My upstairs neighbour is 7 weeks pregnant, and has had a spell in hospital for severe morning sickness. She's home now, and I want to get her something for when I visit her - has anyone got any ideas about what she may appreciate? I know it's quite early, as she hasn't reached 12 weeks yet, so I don't think I should get a congratulations card etc in case it's bad luck.
fruit teas (ginger and lime) and stem ginger biscuits. also good was foxes glacier mints.

i would have loved that as they all helped my morning sickness. ;)

Sexymouse, the shop is doing quite well for it's first month! Won't ever make us all millionaires, but it's sustaining itself and paying my mum, dad and one staff member, so that IS good!

Sorry to hear about your neighbour, hope she feels better soon and the pregnancy goes well. Perhaps you could offer to do a few chores for her? Like cut her grass or something like that. Or my fave, a nice big squishy pillow. Nice big squishy pillows are lovely when pregnant.

Got kids, been to tesco, gave them snack, sat on me bum. Will av a cuppa jo and then get crackin'!

I did the drawers (looking for little music notes to illustrate sing song tone), how long were they on my list?

Wednesday wobbles- Bathroom and Study/Pc Area
    Level One
    [STRIKE]Clean floors in these rooms[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
[STRIKE]Clean baths, toilets, don't forget the outside! and sinks.. shine the taps with a toothbrush[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Clear any clutter from desk[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Dust PC and desk and wipe off those cup rings!![/STRIKE]Why have I never thought to mop the wall tiles? I always just wipe to where I can reach, so these have not been done to the tops since I moved in in May. I never thought they looked too bad,but now I've done this I can feel the difference. It's so much brighter in there! Also, you know how I've been moaning about the grout on the floor tiles? I've always hated them because they are matt tiles, Ive been mopping away for months. I just took a scourer out of the cupboard to try to wipe off some grimy bits-and the grout just came off :j Granted it wasn't without its elbow grease but I've done three full tiles now and just had to take before and after pics. Im AMAZED.
[STRIKE]Wipe keyboard, house phone, sockets, switches and mouse etc[/STRIKE]
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Wash your bathroom mats, nets, clean blind/curtains etc[/STRIKE]WM on right now
[STRIKE]Scrub down tiles in bathroom.. defragment your pc while doing this.[/STRIKE]
Empty and clean out all the upstairs bins! Thursday is bin day here
    [STRIKE]Clean shower screen/curtain if you have one/if required[/STRIKE]In WN
[STRIKE]Collect all the dirty laundry[/STRIKE] In WM
    Extra mission: Take your pick!
    1. [STRIKE]Wipe the skirtings, door and window frames in these rooms[/STRIKE]
    2. [STRIKE]Fling all those empty bottles and tubes[/STRIKE]
    3. [STRIKE]replace any sponges, flannels, toiletries that need it[/STRIKE]
    4. [STRIKE]Make a long list of those bodies you need to purchase christmas gifts for!!.. 98 days!! lol[/STRIKE]
    Also
    • [STRIKE]Playgroup from 09H30-11H30 (Speak to A about coffee for cancer morning-26th September)[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Ask K about DS1 birthday[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]15 minutes control journal[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Sort through top 3 drawers in kitchen[/STRIKE]
    • Clean fridge
    • [STRIKE]Call the triangle[/STRIKE]
    • Do at least one shelf of book shelf
    • Talk to DF re BL workshop-decide on date to book
    • Work through at least one BL task

I also put away the towels etc that were in the WM with the mats.
Now Im almost tempted to replace something on the list with the rest of the tiles....mmm I wonder if DF would notice the difference....Still contemplating this

Oooh yes, that IS a good idea, organized home have those little "favour gift vouchers" you could print out and give her in a hamper...incase she thinks your offers are only sympathetic and is too nervous to take you up on them (What? Im like that, other people in the world must sometimes be;) )

I've confirmed that I'll be working Tue/Wed/Thur full time (, giving me Monday off to do my degree work (no I won't be doing housework that day while DD is in school - purely degree work!) and Fridays to run errands as I have to drop my timesheet in anyway so will have a daily bus pass which is paid for ;):money:

Right, studying again tonight but I am already planning to have this weekend (well Saturday/Sunday) OFF :p I'll get jobs done Friday night once I've dropped DD off to Ex. ;)

    Tea time here

Thanks everyone for your ideas for my neighbour. I went off to the shops and searched high and low for ginger tea, including whittards and holland and barrett, but could only find tea with other things in eg blackberry leaves, which knowing about raspberry leaf tea, I thought should be avoided. So, ended up going back to the big Mr T, and managed to find some lemon and ginger tea by an unknown small brand, and it only contained lemon peel, lemon oil and ground ginger root. I also bought her some of superdrug's cocoa butter stretch mark cream, and a packet of M&S gingernut biscuits. I wrote a card out for her and her husband, and delivered them about 5 minutes ago to her husband. She's still not up and about, or up for visitors, but he said he'd text me when she is feeling a bit better. I'm all excited now. I really hope that the rest of her pregnancy goes well, cos you couldn't meet a nicer couple.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

    Evening all

Boddy - hope your sleepover goes well and is not too stressful
AnWsmum - sorry about your friend's Mum but it sounds like a merciful release
Polka - your toxic friend sounds like a right fruit loop!
Embb and Pigpen - and other sickies - hope you feel better soon.

I'm a little cheerier this evening - we actually had some sunshine today so I went out at lunch time and just stood in it for 15 minutes. Must have looked a right fruit loop myself!

Now need to decide on what to do for dinner. Stir fry I think. Who do you think you are is on at 9pm and I want to watch that. I also have to prep stuff for a talk I'm giving to a community group tomorrow evening so I need to do that now.
I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
