SexymouseDF had said he would take it by one evening after work, we tried to get it in a "basic post" envelope. You know, there's all this new stuff about thickness and weight. Its too big so to post it I'd have to go into post office. Our nearest is about half an hour walk (not on bus route) and frankly, I think its nice enough that DF offered to go by, Im not having him stand in a queue at lunchtime.
So she phone this morning-immediately all uppity saying she'd not had a response (I had only just sent it) so I told her what was going on. "But he's going away on Friday right?" "yes, he'll bring it tommorow" " But I'm not going to be in" "he'll put it through the postbox or leave it with your neighbour" "NO, it's too sentimental, just give me your address and I'll send you a cheque for postage":rotfl: "No, if you don't want him to bring it then come and fetch it" all I heard after that was yelling so I put the phone down.
Got home from playgroup to find this in my inbox (edited for obvious reasons)
I did not yell at you. I did not say anything even remotely uncivil or impolite to you. I simply did not wish (DF) to go out of his way for no reason and was calling to say so, as well as to tell you -- so you would know for your own records -- that no emails had come through to me. Given the problems you've had with your broadband, I thought you'd want to know.
I am happy to send you an envelope with postage already affixed if need be. I see no reason why (DF), if willing to come here, he cannot just as easily drop a package in any post office or just stuff it in a post box. It is not a particularly large hand bag. Nor do I need it tomorrow. I simply want it as soon as possible with the least amount of bother on anyone's part. I see no reason why this is such a problem.
Please just send me your postal address so that I can post an envelope to you.
If you cant manage this rationally, would you please forward (DF'S) email address to me and he and I can work it out with the least amount of fuss. We are adults -- I see no reason for all of this.

I sent it to DF-he laughed, why would he want to deal with her after whats happened, never mind the way she treated him whenever they had to be in the same room.

Polka, at least you can both laugh about this... Personally, I'd feel like knocking on her door and posting it in her mouth to shut her up, but I am a bit like that... act first, think later...

I would just give her your address and make her pay herself - But, if you can't be asked with giving her your address in case of repercussions (she sounds a bit of a loon to me! ), then you can download and pay for postage online through royal mail - I did it with my eBay stuff, then you can just pop it in a letterbox like normal, you just have to weigh it, and they tell you whether it is a package or letter, etc. Then just drop her a quick email saying it is in the post - doesn't take two ticks...

Thanks Den, I really want to do that, thats why I tell all of you all about it. I dont want to do it even that way anymore. Purely based on the fact that she's all about ME AND MY WAY. She always used to "go on about the principle of the thing" and Im now starting to think Id be doing her a favour by giving her some of her own. She wants "the least trouble for everyone" (she really means she doesnt want to have to do anything) and just for calling me irrational I feel I might as well be a bit:)
Aside from that, she was "friends" with me for easily 8 or so months (only) came to my house three times in that time, and managed to send an invite to her DD's birthday in the post....I don't feel like repeating myself.
I'm taking your advice...I'm not letting her walk all over me:o

Good on you! I thought it strange that she didn't know, maybe when you let her know you've posted it, you could just let it slip that she has been to your house before, or is she getting a bit forgettful in her old and senile age? Naah, maybe not, or you could just put it in white text so she can't read it, but you know it's there... he he (No, I've NEVER done that before!):rotfl:

Ooh, quick afterthought, do her emails come through to you in HTML or plain text? (emails where they look nice, or the ones that are plain and only in times new roman or similar text, ect) as if they are in plain text, the white will show up!

  • Started well, was really good today and did a bit of exercisebike.gifon the jogging machine thing - I managed 1/2 a mile in 8 mins and got my heart rate up to 138, which considering I DO NOT EXERCISE, I thought was good - plus I was a bit knackered after :o - going to try to make it a daily thing, as really think it will improve my energy levels (oooh, did I forget to mention I went to bed soon after for 2 hours, shhh whistling.gif) But apart from that, not done too much, just my dailies...

Hi Polka and Beany, I'm in, bit late, but I need a kick up the butt today... kickme.gif right, timer set, here I go...
