    Evening all!

Rach - well done on the hike. I bet you're knackered now. Sleep well!
Embb - that happened to us with a chicken last week. It was rancid. DH threw it in the bin before I had time to do anything about it. Hope you get your money back.

Today i've redone the rockery at the back. I've cleared it of weeds and just put in helibore and some pansies. I'm not keen on pansies but they'll do until I buy things I really like.

Has anyone any experience of magnetic bracelets for pain? I bought a one today because it was very pretty and my hand has been killing me. Anyway, I put it on not thinking it would really help the pain and the pain went. How and why and is it a coincidence? Very odd!

Speak soon i'm off to s/s the kitchen xx

    Hi everyone

Glad its been a good day for most.
    Rach Well done:T
    Holly DS is almost 2.5
We've had a fairly quiet day. DS put himself to nap this afternoon on the couch-he has a stuffy nose.
I did some more of the bathroom tiles and am very impressed with the stardrops. I made up a mix with vinegar and water and in the time it took me to do three tiles with the bleach, I was able to do nine. I also used the stardrops to do the dishes and am completely chuffed. Wiped down those marks on the walls and it looks stunning. Also did the kitchen floor with it.
I also did a load of washing using vinegar to soften and now Im in my pj's and I really dont remember them ever feeling this cosy.

    Evening all,

Had a lovely day spending money, spent what I initially thought was way too much in Costco but since coming home I have worked out that we should hae tiolet/kitchen roll until the end of the year, I have juice for the girls for the next 2 months and enough meat & fish in the freezer for 25 meals...... I also treated myself to a large bottle of gin which has just been opened...........

SM - sorry to hear about your sister I thought if you had been vaccinated against then you had immunity
rach - well done with your walk enjoy your sleep/rest tonight

And to join in (belatedly) with the Johnny Depp chat I liked pirates very much but preferred him in chocolate............

Off to watch casualty now Oh has disappeared downstairs to watch lord of the rings so I have peace to enjoy (i am in his good books as i have found a live feed for the ryder cup golf over the internet) so he has one eye on the tv and the other on the laptop..

Rach – well done you – that’s some achievement! £20 will be in the post first class to you Monday.
JulieJim – if you do it online, you don’t need the docs- they know about everything already!
Mudbath – could it be a placebo/pressure effect? Try taking it off and putting something about the same size but non-magnetic on. It would be an interesting experiment!

I'm back, safe and sound, though a little tired from the 200+ miles round trip  The last hour on the way back was a bit of a strain. I don't like driving at night particularly and there was one point where there were a bunch of fire engines blocking off the inside lane of a motorway on-slip putting out a caravan fire and the lights really dazzled me.

But I had a lovely time. Bro did a bbq as the weather was so good and we all just sat on the patio basking in the warmth of the sun gossiping family gossip and eating and drinking (me tea and orange juice because I was driving). I kept having a sniff of my sister's wine though! I'm now getting myself on the outside of a well deserved G&T.

We were all dead proud of one of my nephews who was there. He's 19 and had just come back from helping out as an instructor at a summer camp in the USA. He and a couple of mates discovered two of the regular staff who had been helping out at the camp for several years were paedos. Seems they'd get the young lads into their bunk rooms, get them to read !!!!!! and were secretly filming them :eek:. So they reported them when they found the filming equipment. The FBI got involved and allsorts. Why no-one had picked up on it before is a real mystery.

Two main memories stand out - my satnav's confusion over a particular roundabout. For any of you who don't know High Wycombe, there's an enormous roundabout with lots of little satellite roundabouts on the edge. I knew which way to go but the Satnav wasn't having any of it and had to recalculate several times. It quite amused me!

The other memory is of an awsome red kite cruising very low over the gardens in my brother's street hunting out its supper. I've never seen one so close and so low. It was absolutely beautiful. I remember when I lived in Wales they were really endangered. Us locals knew where to go to see them but we never told anyone. now, it seems, they are thriving. Bro said that they actually watched six hunting together one evening. They're beautiful birds.

    Hmmm - time for a G&T refill I think!

soappie - sounds like you had a great day! I'd have loved to see the red kite.

sexymouse - when DS1 was small he had what the doctor was sure was German measles, and he had been vaccinated. I've had it a couple of times as well. If I remember correctly, the rash just flushes across the torso, and sometimes can go within a matter of hours. I don't remember it being itchy. There is however an outbreak of measles at a London secondary school, and cases have been reported in Medway - my three brought home letters on Friday asking us to check they'd been vaccintaed as children - they have. I think if I were your sister I'd want to have another opinion!

Okay, I haven't done a huge amount of flying today. I did the weekly shopping as usual this morning, then treated myself to coffee in the garden in the sunshine - lovely. There haven't been enough mornings I've been able to do that! several loads of washing, and also spent an hour or so on the allotment, before going into town with DD (who was in a rotten mood, so I wish I hadn't) to get some cards and paper, as I'd managed to buy OH's presents for his birthday today, but not the rest! We had a takeaway pizza dinner, as a treat - very nice! DD has gone out with boyfriend, so peace restored.

I have to do coffees after church tomorrow, and really don't feeel like it, as I've got the sore throat thing as well, and DS2 has a really bad cold, and feels really unwell so won't be coming along to help.

Off to watch TV for a bit, then early night, will catch up tomorrow!
It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be
  • Totally exhausted this evening - seem to have been on the go for days!
Lots of flying yesterday and a bit today - it seems to have been a round of WM, DW cleaning the kitchen floor - heaven knows how the kids managed to get so much muck on the floor - it's not even been wet!
Finally managed to clean the base of the paddling pool and get that dry - so ready to fold tomorrow once the dew has gone - that took a while but trusty Stardrops helped to clean it beautifully!
Managed to cook two batches of bread - 1 loaf and 1 set of rolls for the HM burgers for tea - a meal the kids ate and didn't complain about followed by mango smoothie -had gone past it's best along with a very soft banana and raspberries - reduced in Mr T's yeaterday. Also cooked a banana loaf - free bananas from school - the f & v man delivered a few already too brown and spotty ones - so I took advantage and liberated them - now they're a yummy treat!
still have a few things to sort tomorrow but have a christening tomorrow afternoon after church in the morning so don't know how much more I'll get done.
Have a great day tomorrow - get well soon all those with lurgys; hugs to all that need them!
    Sealed Pot 617 - target £150 only managed £27 in 2009!

Soappie - normally I wear my bracelet on that wrist and it's also an elasticated tight band but didn't stop the pain. I've not had to take painkillers today for my wrist despite typing up a 15 page table on muscles of the body. It could well be placebo but if it works i'm happy! It's kind of strange because I didn't expect it to. You must be proud of your nephew. They were really brave to report it and good on them! They've probably saved lots of children from those idiots!

    Hugs to all xx
