    Afternoon all

Lovely day here too, two loads of washing already dry and put away including the throws from the living room.

We went to the garden centre and bought some more plants and bark chips and we've now planted the border I dug over last month (the one that I got about 10 bags of stuff out which went to the local composting centre). It looks nice and tidy now, I just hope all the plants live. I've got two grasses and two cyclamens which I'm keeping for when I take the annuals out of the end border in a few weeks and then they can be planted instead, along with my last bag of bulbs.

Just general tidying up done indoors, it's too nice to spend all day inside :)

I'm so glad Jake is safely home.

Erm....I do :o well, kinda - I leave them in the carrier bags then shove them in a cupboard. it's just I thought I'd ask before I go rummaging around the 1000's of carriers bags I've got for it. I'm so lazy.

Great! My Mum has just called saying that my sister has german measles and that if that isn't what my current headaches are caused by, I may get it next week as we saw her last night when we went round to dinner - just as the supply is picking up again too - keep your fingers crossed that I am immune and won't catch it! Apparently it effects different people in different ways, so I may have it or I may not. I have been vaccinated against it, but that doesn't mean I won't get it, as she was too.

I've been told not to go anywhere near my neighbour (the pregnant one) in case I do have it, or may develop it, so I guess I won't be able to see her for quite a while now, just in case, as I wouldn't want to harm her baby. :(
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Give her a call and ask her if she has immunity.. they will have checked for it at her first appointment (they do the full blood count, rubella and a few other bits).. if she is immune it will be fine to go visit her!!... she will have the results in her hospital hand held notes.. :D.. see.. I am a little bit useful! It is unlikely you will get it if you have been vax'd though. Has your sister had blood tests to confirm that is what it is??

I don't think she had a blood test to confirm, I think they just gave her a load of antibiotics and said that it was suspected german measles - the fact that her rash has developed more since she got home, and is now itching too, makes my Mum think that it probably is that.

In that case.. it probably isn't and she should get the blood test to make sure!!!!! It is pretty lax of the docs to just dole out AB's without checking first.. .especially for a virus  .. so they will have absolutely no effect at all only make her more susceptible to other illnesses.. Plus rubella rash isn't usually itchy (or at least it wasn't when I had it :p and is not listed as one of the symptoms).. but allergy rashes and measles are incredibly itchy. I'd be more likely to try antihistamines before AB's.. ;) .. but I'd rather die before I went to the quack!

I'd encourage your sis to go see a [strike]proper[/strike] different doctor and get a proper diagnosis if I were you.. I am not trying to make a diagnosis online as I know that is not allowed but I think it needs more detailed checking out.. just to be on the safe side for everyone.. and before you spend 3 weeks not going round to your friends house because of a 'hunch'!!!

I like asking second opinions.. lol

    Hello all

I did it! (my 20mile overnight hike). finished at 7.30am. Was hard going at times but good fun. I was proud of myself as out of our team of 4 i was the one out of our team of 4 who coped the best and I was setting the pace etc (all those walks on hols keeping up with DH!) After we'd finished there were bacon sarnies etc so I finally got home about 9.30am. Absolutely shattered. Had about 2.5 hours sleep then got up and had a bath and we went for lunch but I can hardly keep my eyes open so I think after mrT has been I'll go back to bed. DH is cooking tonight!

ooh, doorbell, that'll be my shopping!
