As a matter of fact, it IS huge. Also, as a matter of fact oh is in his 70s, has asthma and there was a lot of shopping. He is alo my carer and therefore has a lot of extra work put on him that he doesn't deserve.
Point really, though, was that even for people in the best of health, it's a bit narking to have to walk past a huge excess of disabled bays for no good reason. Like I said, many people assumed it was a mistake and ignored the markings, usually leaving those nearest the shop alone.
Funny, this used to be a friendly site, but some people have to find something/someone to have a go at0 -

I must admit that there has been occasions when we have taken my disabled father in law out in the car and there are no spaces left as people without badges have taken them I have blocked them in so they are inconvenienced just as much as he was by their actions.
I did this once at Tesco and the guy obviously came into the store and there was an enouncement for me to move our car, so I simply went up to the desk where this guy was standing ranting and raving and said “do you have a blue badge?” to which he said “obviously not love, now move your f**king car”. To which I simply replied well stupidity won’t qualify you for one so you’ll have to wait until we’ve finished shopping and perhaps you will learn a lesson.
He simply stormed off but both of the customer service girls burst out laughing and said serves him right. You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0 -

There is no obligation to use the blue badge in a private car park. However, it does, of course, save a lot of inconvenience to other people and possibly embarrassment to yourself if you do.
Actually there are signs in the carpark..."These spaces are reserved for Blue Badge users only, Badges MUST be displayed. If a temporary disabled parking permit is required, please ask at customer services"The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 10

Yes, yes. Of course it does. That is part of your agreement to using their private car park. But there is NO legal requirement under the RTA. Because the RTA does not apply to parking in private car parks. Really it does not. It is a contractual matter.0 -
i saw a young woman having an argument with an older couple the other day in my local tesco. the young woman asked to see the badge of the older couple as they had parked in a disabled space and they were both walking away from the car. the man lifted up his trouser leg and showed off his metal false leg and asked the young woman if he was disabled enough for her.
the woman went white and started spluttering apologies. not all disablilities are quite so obvious.
tbh, I might be alone here, but I'm not sure that having a false leg really *is* disabled enough...if he was walking freely and she couldn't notice the difference I don't see why he needs a disabled space...I reckon he should've been leaving the space free for people who really needed it.0 -
Not a supermarket carpark, but what do you make of this one?
I had to take my Dad to A&E on friday evening, he has a blue badge but when we got there the two, yes two disabled spaces were full. We parked in a normal space and started to walk to the unit when we looked at the parking meter again...
Our hospital is now charging Blue Badge holders for carparking if they are not in a designated disabled space, bearing in mind there are only 2 of these spaces on the A&E carpark what chance do you have?!0
