Parking ticket in Asda car park - Is this legal, can they take me to court?

Audi TT's cost from about £24k to £30k+ new depending on extras etc. A bentley costs about £150k+ new. Of course I'm not saying people who are disabled cannot earn or save enough to buy one, but obviously it would be more difficult due to discrimination that is rife in the work place (although there is supposedly law to stop it).0

The other, obvious, way to sort it out in supermarkets (sorry, I didn't think of this before
) is to put a barrier on the disabled section of the carpark...and give you a ticket to get out again on production of a blue badge/photoID, whatever at customer services...or a £100 fine...
Your suggesting re-designing ever car park in the country?:D0 -
On Friday my husband popped to Asda to get some cash out of the mini bank. As it was raining he parked nearest the machine in a disabled bay (I know he shouldn't have done this, but it was raining and car park was not mega busy). When he returned to his car it had a parking ticket on.
At first he thought it was a joke, so when he got back to work rang Asda who said it nothing to do with them, the car park is run by a private company and they have notices up with there terms on.
So they (Town and City Parking Ltd based in Scotland) issued a civil penalty notice demanding £20 payable within 10 days or becomes £40 after. It states - failure to respond will lead to civil action being taken for penalty and judicial expenses occurered. All verythreatening.
So is this legal or just a con to try to obtain money from us and other like us?
How will they find out who we are from the registration number would DVLA disclose this to a private company.
Any one come across this before?
If you knew how much hassles non-disabled people cause those that NEED disabled bays, then you wouldn't do it.
If the bays are full of the idle and those that don't want to get wet, then, because my husband is disabled, we cannot use a bay.
Personally, I wish they would fine and clamp all drivers that abuse disabled bays.
Supermarkets etc., are starting to enfoce disabled bays, and soon this will be common practice, and 3 cheers for that.
It's inconsiderate.

I totally agree its about time the super markets done something about the wide bay parking as everytime i go i always see a good few cars parked where they shouldnt be, as i look for a parent and child and the amount of people who use those spaces without children is unreal even people who have car seats still use them even though no child, you would have thought they would have known how it feels.
It wouldnt take too much to get some sort of system with laminated cards to display and fine those who dont display reviewed on a yearly basis as i wont be using the toddler space once little man is in a booster seat. If little man isnt with me then i do park in a regular bay.The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
What if we became vigilantes. If someone who is clearly not disabled or is a non badge holder parked in disabled baby then we should make sure that they are put in position to genuinely end up using a disabled bay!
A bit harsh but it would work.0 -

I can't speak for everyone of course, but as a disabled person what makes you think we want these kind of muppets?:D0 -

I wish they will do more to clamp down on the bone idle who abuse the disabled parking bays and parent/children bays because it gets abused on there too.If you knew how much hassles non-disabled people cause those that NEED disabled bays, then you wouldn't do it.

I wouldn't condone either injuring anyone or damaging cars parked illegally, but I keep a supply of these flyers in the car, and put them on cars that abuse parking bays.:T

I also, providing it isn't interfering with anyone else trying to get through, park behind the abuser, so that they cannot move their car, and have to wait until we have finished shopping.
