I used to live in a flat on the high street, two floors above a chip shop (classy I know) and the flat door plus Parking courtyard were accessible via a ramp/ally that ran between the chippy and a chinese.
I made my way through high street traffic one day to find that someone had mounted the lowered pavement section which lead to the alley.
I saw people inside so beeped to let them know I needed access. No response! I had to make 20 minute trip back round the 1 way systems back to the alley entrance again.
They were still there. I went back round AGAIN because the traffic was heavy I didn't want to cause an obstruction. This time, I pulled up a tidily as I could (there were no roadside spaces of course) and opened the drivers door. There was a 4/5 yr old child in the back and an extremely elderly woman in the passenger seat. I tried explaining that they were blocking the entrance to my flat, but she obviously couldnt hear me saying 'are you disputing my disability?'. It was then I noticed the blue badge *sigh* eventually managed to explain to the old lady, who suggested I move the car myself (??) she told me her daughter had parked and she was in the shops somewhere. I scoured the shops and eventually found the woman in the library
I was not pleased! She said she didn't realise she was blocking an entrance humph.

Anyway sorry for the essay. My views? If you're disabled, feel free to park in the disabled spaces. Same with P&C.

However, if it's 11.30pm, and there are two solitary staff cars in the car park of my local tesco, and I'm running in for baby milk before a midnight close? Yeah I might park in the disabled. I apologise unreservedly

    Nothing.

As pogofish says, read all about it here:

Don't get scammed by these parking companies. They have NO authority, they can't "fine you", you owe them nothing.

The company serving the notice is town and city parking. any other experiences from others out there?

Remember it is not a "notice served" rather an "invoice request"

As said nothing! My partner and I parked in an ASDA for our first date (restaurant nearby) but got chatting. I walked her back to her car and we continued chatting until nearly 1am. The result was an overstay of three hours, despite the ASDA actually having closed at 10pm. It takes a lot of patience to just ignore the letters but they do give up. Eight months on and nothing but she and I are still together and still chatting long into the night :j

If you so much as call them up to dispute the notice, you will effectively get put on a "suckers list" so look at it a bit like avoiding replying to spam email.
  • OK, so I've read all the previous posts in their many guises and I know this may come across as a stupid question.....

I have now received my second notification for a supposed breach of their rules in an ASDA carpark just off the M4 in Cardiff.

Best of it is that I actually viosited the same store twice on the smae day and was never in the carpark for more than 20 minutes at either visit.

So the question is should I reply and tell them the situation or should I just ignore?

    Thanks for any guidance

You should just IGNORE, they wont listen and all you will get is more harrasment as they have a live hooked fish.
What you might want to do is find a supermarket that does not try to SCAM its customers and is happy to have your custom.
Yes ASDA are in on the scam and get a share of the FAKE FINE money.
Ignore and read up what to expect, particularly with reference to fake debt collectors and bogus solicitors.

Ignore it and take a look at the letter chain sticky on the parking board to see what to expect next from them, then tick the letters off to the end of the scam.
  • Has anybody out there been taken to court by TCP ?,and had to pay the charges plus costs. I am now in receipt of the 2 letter . I have not answered any of the letters , or contacted them in any way, I had a phone call from 01132856550, nobody was on the other end when I answered the phone??.
