Could you please tell me how to test the speed of your pc?
Mine is running very slowly and taking ages to load, trying to get to the bottom of it.
Thanks

Have a look at this site, it has speed tests and a tweak test - http://www.dslreports.com/tools0

The speed of your processor or the actual internet?:idea:0

I presume you have an anti-virus/spyware checker? You can always run a second test at https://www.antivirus.com (housecall).
All being well - do a defrag and delete old files via "disk clean up."
You say "ages to load" -- do you mean start-up?0 -
How much RAM do you have on board? You may need to curtail the amount of programs you have starting up when you 'boot' your PC.
Have you run scans for Malware?0 -
I suggest you run a small free program its called pcpitstop, just type that into Google and run it. While its analysing your p.c. you will see flashing circles etc don't be alarmed that's the way it works, the final results will show you flags red flag indicates need to do something now, yellow flag not urgent but needs to be sorted, chequered flag spot on, now the good news is not only is it free, but if you do have any faults it explains in detail how to correct them.Low Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs

Anyone remember when you used to drool over a uber system and it had 64mb of ram.
2gig (thats what I have in my machine now), which is the same as the hard disk I had in im Pentium 100 back in 1998c"Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

2 GB minimum?? How silly. XP will run nicely with 1GB. That would not the reason for the slowdown.0
