I sometimes wonder why I save in an ISA as well...Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Afternoon peeps,
Im feeling quite postive today as last night found a great compare mortgage site called godirect.co.uk.
They even compare mortgages for people with CCJ'sSo i found a few that would lend to us! Conditions were only 1 CCJ and under £250. So thats cool as OH only had 1 for £100 altogther. The interest rates were a little high but we new they would be, im just chuffed that places will lend to us. They will lend 85% LTV.
Once OH gets his certificate of satisfacation & we can get upto at least £15k deposit we can start the ball rolling!;)
Also one of OH's terrible missed payments on a loan should fall off his credit history this month. So thats another thing to be happy about. We will send off for a copy of history in April to check.
Which reminds me we havent wrote off to the banks about claiming back his charges on late payments yet. Thats another thing on his to do list!
I pulled my finger out earlier and done some lightspeed surveys and claimed a £5 Amazon voucher that they sent instantly! So added that to my total:)Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -
Hello Maria,
I'm so happy about the mortgage news, you sound a lot happier now than you did a couple of months ago hun. Its great when things finally start coming together. Never know, this time next year, could have your own home and a little 'un on the way
Well done on the ISA total, its looking fab.
Have you managed to hit the shops yet and treat yourself? have you dared go Lakeside? I was there last weekend and oh my god, never again! My OH was such a grumps, moaning about how i walk around a shop, in circles apparently, then i heard another guy moaning to his g/f about the exact same thing, maybe us woman are all like it when we shop. Why i go shopping with my OH i don't know.
Keep up all the good work you!
xx

Hi have you done a guestimate of how much you will need to find each month once you have a mortgage and all the bills? If so have you thought about 'pretending' you already have them commitments and commit to putting that away each month between you no matter what other wants/needs/bills might arrive in the mean time?
You are saving anyway towards the deposit but by committing yourself now financially to that amount you will know that you can seriously afford it once the time comes and it won't be a shock.
Just a thought
Hope you're ok with no update today x0 -
Hi
Its sooo cold today! Brrrrrr! Luckly no snow here though.;)
Hayley: No i havent got round to my voucher spending spree yet, all this car trouble OH has been having has been taking up our spare time. Although i did spend a couple of boots vouchers on eye lash dye and face cream. I now have £50 of Debenhams so cant wait to get a nice top or two from there!
I cant stand lakeside nowadays, its too crowded and does my head in. Yes my OH is the same, he says he feels like a dog following me around the shops!:rotfl:
KM: Well i have wrote out many times how much i think we would roughly be spending a month, but its hard going by other peoples bills. I think around £1200 outgoings a month! Which is the amount we save every month at the moment between us. It would be interesting to do what you said about pretending we had the bills etc....but i know OH wouldnt do it. I know, i reckon it will be a big shock to us when were moved out going from hardly any outgoings now to most of our wages going in bills but hey im up for the task!;)
On with the money updates
OH had a £25 payout from Cashbackkings:)
OH has put £300 into the savings from his pay packet, it should be £700 but £120 went on the tattoo removal, £60 on his car tax, and the rest is for his cars MOT and the work it might need if we cant fix its 2 faults.Grrr!! If he has any money left over after MOT...which hopefully he should, it will be going into savings.
So new Deposit total: £13,910:)
Oh yeah and i suppose now Halifax ISA interest will go down to 0.5%....great!:(Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -

Just having a break from my list!
Ive done the easy ones first!
I have decided to sell my £50 virgin voucher now as the experience days that OH would like to go on are miles away.
Another thing to add to my list is check out a shared ownership 2 bed house in little dunmow which is about half hour drive away from where i live now. But OH works about 5 mins down the road from there so would be good for him, we're not going to see the house inside just driving up there to check out the area etc.Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -
Morning,
We fell in love with the apartment we went to look at yesterday and we havent even looked inside yet!
Its on the shared ownership scheme, which in the past i didnt want to go on. But It seems really well priced, others in the same area want the same price for a 1 bed flat in a block! This is a new build 2 bed flat that looks more like a house as it isnt in a block and its got an en suite shower room and 2 parking spaces.
They want £65k for 50% and £148 rent, £28 service charge.
Heres a huge link for a nosey, tell me what you think!
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/new-homes/property-23234729.html?locationIdentifier=REGION%5E456&maxPrice=130000&radius=0.25&pageNumber=1&backToListURL=%2Fproperty-for-sale%2Ffind.html%3FsearchType%3DSALE%26locationIdentifier%3DREGION%255E456%26radius%3D0.25%26displayPropertyType%3D%26minBedrooms%3D%26maxBedrooms%3D%26minPrice%3D%26maxPrice%3D130000%26maxDaysSinceAdded%3D%26retirement%3D%26partBuyPartRent%3Dfalse%26_includeSSTC%3Don%26sortByPriceDescending%3D%26primaryDisplayPropertyType%3D%26secondaryDisplayPropertyType%3D%26oldDisplayPropertyType%3D%26oldPrimaryDisplayPropertyType%3D%26oldSecondaryDisplayPropertyType%3D%26newHome%3D%26auction%3Dfalse%26x%3D96%26y%3D10
So with our £15k deposit we could get a £50k mortgage, then hopefully buy the remaining 50% when we need to. I need to find this out. Ive requested details on it anyway.
The only down side is it in a different town which is a 25 min drive away, its a little bit out in the sticks. But only a 10 min bike ride for my OH to get to work. But a 25 min drive for me to get to work.Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -
Hi Maria
That house looks lovely!
A 50% share is not all bad and the price is good. If it was me I would be going for it if I had the deposit there.
I live a 30min+ drive from work its not all that bad, you get used to it.
Good luck
