Anyone have a view on BMI?

In my opinion it's a pretty unreliable way of telling if you're fat.

Their aircraft are cheap to run, only sipping fuel (turboprop). They seem to have a lot of third party work on at present which usually makes good money. They also have several Irish PSO routes (govt sponsored) which are also money in the bank. Overall I think they would not be top of the list just yet.

    Thanks jetboy.
I paid for flights by credit card and the hotel and car hire is cancellable.

Seems to be the way we have to do things now.
  • A good article in my local paper (Daily Record) suggests Globespan are ready to post a profit for 2008 and are running at 94% capacity and potentially looking to pick up a few new planes over the winter. Granted this is based on a report from Tom Dalrymple their CE.

Downside Paddy Power has them at 6/4 which is doing nothing for customer confidence.

Sorry to resurect an old thread but i have watched their plight with interest as im flying with them in the summer

Not sure about 'well done', more like 'very lucky the oil price plummeted!'

Shame they dropped the winter transatlantic (Canada) schedules - loads and prices have been high this winter as a result of the failure of Zoom and the similar lack of CanadianAffair (Air Transat/Thomsas Cook) flights, leaving the market basically to BA, Air Canada and KLM plus a few other minor combinations.

Had the oil price stayed high, there would have been more failures in the airline industry. For them, the pain is over - OK, they've got to survive the recession, but this will probalby not be fatal to any airlines. The return of high oil prices will.

Given they turned a £17m loss into a profit when things were tight i'd say it is a well done.
