Are Definitive Promotions and Red Planet Marketing like this? I saw a job advert for graduates, applied and got the job and then realised it was 100% commisision. So I never followed through because it didn't seem like a proper job.
    Starting out on a DMP
    ~ Capital One: £6300 ~ Sainsbury's: £199 ~ Natwest: £9400 ~ Halifax: £3500
  • in my experience any "marketing" job that's adverts start with something like "bored of bar work?" or "fresh, funky people wanted" is a 100% commission rip off.

I've gone to all day interviews and shadowed the "marketing department" (door to door gas salesmen) before. it's a waste of time

companies I know of in Liverpool include CMA Direct in Gostins building and P&D marketing in cotton exchange building.

They all seem to be offshoots of an international marketing group called something beginning with an I like indigo or iguana or something like that.

copy and paste the advert into google and see how many times it comes up
  • Can anyone tell me if Oval Innovations now in Norwich is part of this?

I was offered a job interview by XS Worldwide Marketing today, and stumbled across this thread after looking for some info on the company. I dont think I'm going to go now :D

As posted before, they are based at Trident House, near Moorfields station in Liverpool and I was told I was to meet Leanne or Kim.

So just had someone on the phone from Code-Marketing based on the ground floor of Trident house here in sunny Liverpool! Guess who the callers name was ... only KIM!!
Funny coz last time i spoke with them i gave them a mouthful about there scam and they quickly retorted "well thats your opinion" and slammed the phone down lol.

So yeah XS Worldwide are now Code Marketing in Trident house on Dale street in Liverpool ...........

OH OH AND!!!! She gave me the website "incase you'd like to do some research on us" so they're onto these forums ... check out the site : - wwwdotcode-marketingdotcom I can tell you as a student studying web design that site is beyond !!!!! !!!!!! and has been thrown together! No mention of "helpmego" though as the ppl who build the site. They must be catching on!

Anyway if you're stumbling across this thread, XS Worldwide now CODE MARKETING are a big scam of a company, no matter how desperate u are for work, stay away!!!!! :rotfl:
  • Thank you to everyone who has posted here.

I was very excited to receive a phone call for an interview with P&D Marketing. They said that they would explain what the job was about there but I still felt that you should always be prepared for an interview so looked them up online. There website was very difficult to find and it explanation as to what they did there was like a poorly written essay. It told you lots without ever telling you anything. I was a little concerned at this point so I tired looking for forums about the company and thankfully I found this site. I decided not to waste my time and concentrate on finding a real job. Do you know if this has ever been reported to Watchdog?
  • Hi all,

Today I received a phone call from Red Square Direct, after I submitted my CV the previous day. They said I have been chosen for a preliminary interview, and it is arranged for Monday. However, after just doing some research on the company, I find various reports that it is another scam, where you would be doing door to door sales, only commission etc. Much along the lines of what has already been posted here.

Some of the reports I found out about this so called "sales/marketing" company, were interesting reading. They were on the ripoffreport.com site.

I don't think I want to waste my time and money going to the interview on Monday. A better use of my time would be to apply for more jobs.
I will email them to cancel the interview, don't want to waste my money to call them to cancel.

It just gets really depressing when you come across such scams. Another one I received a reply from (twice) was this Data Entry one. That was really obvious it was a scam from their email they sent me, and I also saw it has been mentioned here.

Hopefully, we will all find good, reputable jobs soon. :)

I too have an interview lined up with Oval Innovation and wonder what your result was.
After doing a little research I am feeling very dubious, so many small things don't add up.
The web site is very crude for a leading marketing company, it is not aimed at customers but at workers, Oval Innovations is listed at Companies House but is not a company in Maidstone.(I think was Nottingham) And of course the comments of other scams on this Forum make you wonder!
Let us know if you know please.

Hey, just looked up that company and they seem to be similar to other scam companies. I have done a lot of research into the warning signs (i was unemployed for a while and didn't want to waste my time applying to phony jobs) To be honest i found the majority of information you find on an Internet search, isn't information at all, but just loads job adverts they seem to have posted anywhere and everywhere. Most really companies don't need to go to these lengths to lure potential employees in. These pyramid scheme companies place as many ads as they can as they have such a high turnover of staff (people leave when they realise).

Pretty much any ad with 'direct marketing' is one of these types of companies, as basically 'direct marketing' means selling to people 'one on one' (another phrase they tend to use). In other words, flogging crap on the street/door to door.

Would you say this job is the same?

I have an interview with them tomorrow but I'm not sure I'll bother as it sounds very similar to the stories on here. The company is Keys Worldwide Limited. I can't seem to find much information about them online.

Yes, it sounds nearly identical to all the ads i applied for that turned out to be these schemes. I probably wouldn't go. The mass majority of marketing ads tend to be scams these days. Especially ones that have such wide earning potential (the earn 'up to 20 grand' bit gets everyone i think) and they always mention uncapped commission etc.

Also these type of ads always make sure to brag about needing 'No experience necessary, full training etc'. Normally most jobs wouldn't put quite so much emphasis on such things as they probably don't need to try hard to lure people to apply.

I would do a bit of research on them. If you type them into a search engine and all the results are just job ad after job ad, chances are they are out to pull in as many unsuspecting people as possible.

If you do go, just be aware that if they ask you for a second interview where you will spend a day with them (if they ask you to wear comfy shoes...BIG WARNING), this is just an excuse for you to spend 8 hours of your own precious time traipsing round flogging stuff for free.
