    majorly important update

cobra group has changed their name hahahaha check out chris niarchos weak excuse to why COBRA GROUPdotCOM

so they are now called appco group!

they have done this because of all the frank reviews on google, they have also employed a company to put loads of positive stories on about all the marketing companies.

so this is what to do.... if you have worked for one of these companies go on their ositive story blogs and add a comment explaining what it really is a MLM pyramid scheme.

IF CHANGING THE COMPANY NAME ISNT A SIGN OF GUILT OR IT BEING DODGY THEN WHAT IS

As a salesperson I have came across these kinds of companies many times. I actually attended an interview about 3-4 years ago for a company in Newcastle. Initially they made it sound very professional but when I attended the "interview" it was the same old spiel about how they are looking for managers and so forth. No information was given and when questioned they actually refused or changed the subject which I thought was extremely strange. I was invited back to the "second interview" along with about 30 other people. Eventually after making us wait in the lobby for about 45-50 minutes they told all of these poor people to leave and that they had been unsuccessful basically just wasting people’s time and effort. Leaving me and one other guy left, If I recall correctly the managers name was Bruce, we went up to meet him at which point I saw a load of charity bibs and booklets and began to wonder what kind of scam this was turning into. Anyway after a discussion with Bruce we were told that we would be now shown into the field and observe how the job was done, We came out the car park with a few of the other lads who worked there and began walking towards a nice BMW but ended up passing that and jumping in the back of a clapped out 98 escort (we honestly must of looked like a bunch of idiots all suited up in that thing) but needless to say we drove for about 45 minutes to Durham area and got out in an estate, The most unfortunate thiong here is when I started asking some questions to the guys who worked there you could clearly see how brain washed they were. And when I asked what the most money they had earned in a week the driver told me he had made about 180 pounds one week but was completely adamant that he would become a manager and that Bruce was the best thing since sliced bread, Alarm bells started ringing from this point and I began to wonder what I had got myself into... I walked around with this Bruce fellow for about 2-3 hours while he knocked on people’s door trying to sell them a subscription to a children’s charity, throughout the entire time he didn’t get any sign ups and in my opinion he was a terrible salesperson and certainly didn’t deserve a “management” title. After a tiresome and long few hours he eventually gave an ultimatum to the team that they planned to stay out until about 9 or possibly 10 o clock at night continuing this and invited us to join them or that we could get the train home, At this point I was getting slightly annoyed with this Bruce guy and how unprofessional this all was. I told him that I had made plans and we were not informed about this before we came out. At this point the other guy who had “got the job” turned round and quietly said “Show him some respect if you want this job” I will never forget them words. I felt so sorry for the guy because he had already been brainwashed by these people and he had only been there 5 minutes. Seen as I had brought no money with me and had no legal way of getting home so I felt like I had to stay with the others until they had finished. After another hour with Bruce he awkwardly offered me a position with the company and I respectively declined. He was surprised to say the least and started telling me that it is the best opportunity of a lifetime and how the possibilities are endless. I told him I wasn’t willing to work for jump change and quite simply that the job wasn’t real, he directed me towards the train station not before hounding me to ring him when id “changed my mind” of course. I actually had to skip the train to Newcastle because I had no money on me... thankfully I didn’t get caught by the ticket inspectors but I am very grateful I wasn’t reeled in with their rubbish of fortune and glory. Funnily enough I just had a phone call from JMS Marketing yesterday for an interview as you can imagine I won’t be attending and I hope nobody else does either.

I, along with many of you, also had the misfortune of bumping into these fools.

I had recently lost me job and I was desperate to get any kind of job, I was on the dole and it was getting on me tits being unemployed. I had a young daughter, and being a single father I was barely getting by. So I thought any job would do, and I came across some Marketing add on some website. I applied, and within 24 hours I was hired. Bit dodgy, lol. They were called something-something-Marketing [I later learned they were under Cobra].

Still, I went through training the first week, and I saw through their BS. I'm only 25, and I was one of the older heads in that office and that was another red flag. Most of them were 19-24. I spent the first week in the "field" in some dodgy council estate in Leicester selling Sky Packages to gullible elderly ladies and young naive couples. £30 for a sale, and £50 for HD. !!!!!!!! to that for a laugh.

In the morning, we arrived at 10am, loud music in the office as if it was a nightclub. Had dodgy silly team meetings and conference calls. Practised our pitches and high fiving one another over some bullcrap. By 1pm, we left to our "field" and by 2pm we were bang in the middle of a council estate knocking on people's doors - a shower of rain and snow hammering down on us whilst door after door is being slammed right on our faces. We [me and the girl who was training me] managed to do 2 sales that day, by 9pm we went back to the office, did some paperwork and off we went home. I didn't get back in home before midnight.

And tomorrow was another day like that. And it went on and on and on. Nobody was allowed to show any negativity. Everyone was forced to put some fake smile and nods so much that you gave yourself repetitive strain disorder.

Eventually, after 5 days and I was about to get my badge, I said !!!! this - my daughter hadn't seen me properly in several days due to this !!!!!! working hours job which is practically one step away from slavery. Crap pay, Crap working hours, Crap fake atmosphere and fake smiles and highfives all around.

Thanks for that, mines was with Montana in Leicester, done the work trial and it was hell, I came home crying my eyes out. I'm a tough girl who can take a lot of crap but that was awful. The person i was with only made one sale that day after trailing around a bad part of town, I had to pay bus fare, dinner and such. I dont have any money full stop, less what i had to spend that day. I sure as hell wont be going in back, wether my BF likes it or not.

All the kids at the office must be so brainwashed it's unbelievable.

Just to warn people if it hasnt been mentioned already that now these companies advertise on sites such as jobsite fish4jobs etc means that they also have full access to the entire database of peoples CVs and are now ringing up people offering interviews even if you havent applied via an advert. Last week I had 2 calls in one day one from business advertising and one from arcedia direct. Be aware!!

A mate told me he'd applied for a marketing job in Liverpool the other day and showed me the email on Saturday night saying how they were impressed with his CV etc. He text me earlier this week telling me how well the interview went and that they did the marketing for Tesco and Orange Wednesdays. He then text me earlier today saying he'd got the job so i asked when he was starting and what the company was called. He replied saying next week, although they had asked him to start tomorrow, and that the company was called JMS Marketing. I had also asked him whereabouts it was in Liverpool and he said it was in Moorfields. Is this 100% the same company based in Cotton Exchange in Bixteth Street? Don't want to go telling my mate its a scam unless im certain.

yes it most definately is the same company!! Moorfields is just the closest train station to the office. They have been advertising their address as water street for 2 years since these forums all kicked off about the scam.

Once you apply for the job they will tell you last minute that its in bixteth street.

Even if they do move to water street they are still the same company!:money:

Hmm, someone has just asked me about 'The Klub' and being an MSE'r I checked it out on here and this thread came up.

It sounds very similar from the little the person has told me. saw an advert about earning potential between 15-20k , got an interview 2 days later and has just been. Was told they were very impressed with him and he needs to go back Tuesday. Told them they were a recruitment and iT sort of company called 'The Klub'.

Oh, he will be so disappointed.
