Well, having read this long and pretty informative thread, it seems no-one has mentioned these scammers:

Centurion Marketing.

I went to them for an interview having seen their ad in the Yorkshire Evening Post, here in Leeds. The initial ad read something like:

"Recession, what recession? 20 enthusiastic people wanted for Leeds based marketing company. No experience needed as full training given. Phone Sue on 0113 1234567."

I went to the 'interview' and as many have said previously, there were 20 or so others filling out their details on a form. People were then called one by one into an office. When it was my turn, I was interviewed by some sharp suited little shyster who asked me what my ambitions were, where I saw myself in 5 years etc, all without telling me too much about what the company does apart from saying they marketed themselves at corporate events or suchlike.

He shook my hand and told me to come back the next day. Needless to say I declined the offer!

Such marketing scams masquerading as vacancies should really be made illegal. It makes a mockery of saying there are XXX,XXX jobs in the economy!

Aarghh these adverts are the bane of my life. In what strange world would these jobs be considered public sector? Yet if you do a search on reed for public sector direct employer jobs what do you see IMMEDIATE START 1,000,0000* PEOPLE NEEDED!!!!!
Something really does need to be done about them.

so many names they've confused themselves. theyve now got offices at 22 water street now anway, so avoid it.

I am glad I came across this forum just out of curiosity after I attended a 'preliminary interview' on Friday 8th Jan 2010 at 2pm in Shand House, London Bridge, London.

When i arrived at Shand House outside(15mins early), I was on the phone chatting to an agency (so i had time before going in), but whilst chatting on the phone i saw quite a few people in smart dressed attire walking into Shand House, even one person asked me where EA Worldwide was, so I pointed to him to the door, from there on I was getting more suspiscous. So 5 mins before 2pm, i decided to go in.

Went downstairs into a lobby area only to find there were at least 20 people sitting down with clipboards filling out forms, went to the receptionist and i said i have an interview at 2pm, the 'aussie' receptionist said that she did not have any clipboards left for to me to complete a form and told me to take a seat, so i took a seat just behind to the right of the reception desk where i had a full view of the lobby.

I sat there analysing all the candidates and the receptionists OH and also dodgy looking car salesmen look a likes, whizzing from office to office trying to look all important. From herein, I was not comfortable whatsoever. I knew this was dodgy, I even was texting to my friends on my phone saying this company is dodgy with loads of people waiting to be interviewed.

Anyway, about half an hour later I was still waiting and finally the receptionist gave me a form to fill, she told me to ignore the letter headed paper as they were waiting for new stationary to arrive, on the letter head crossed out was Galaxy Marketing replaced in pen with EA! I looked at her when I saw this and just thought this a flaming joke.

When I handed back the form she asked where is my CV, i said this was emailed when I applied for the job! So she said ok.

About another 30 mins later, I was then called in to see this american blonde woman, very bubbly etc etc, but to my delight I was accompanied by another candidate which I found very strange.

So she blabbed on and on about the company etc, boasting they have Opal Telecoms, Talk Talk, Carphoneware house as their clients. Asking me questions about my experience, so i bull***ted just to make her feel that i can easily do this job while the other candidate who was european and only been in this country for 4 months!!!!!!! was brainwashed in to this absolute scam, I just sat there taking the P*** when I was talking to the american manager or whatever she is. Anyway after the interview she said to us we passed and can we come back for the 2nd stage on Monday 11th Jan, so i pretended to be excited and said congratulations to the other candidate who seemed genuinely pleased and I knew this was just not what it seemed.

So after walking out of the door i said the other candidate this is a dodgy company and I am not coming back, she seemed to oblivious to what I was saying.

So I recieved an email about 2 hours later saying turn up on Monday for the 2nd round of interviews which was basically walking around london in the cold with an 'account manager'.

I replied and said I am not interested as I felt the company was a scam and I ain't stupid. Heard nothing back.

So people, bewarned this company is just full of bull****ers making them sound bigger than they are, and try to make you feel that your going to progress with in the company within 6 - 12 months, but sorry I am not walking around London for free and only earn pittence for what I sell. Complete rubbish.

Check out EA Worldwide Acquisitions on companies house, company number; 06412852, dodgy as f*** Companies House have stated TOTAL EXEMPTION SMALL on their report which means;

"There is total exemption from audit for certain small companies (including
very small charitable companies) if they are eligible and wish to take
advantage it. Some charitable companies are exempt from audit but must
provide an accountant's report on the accounts (partial exemption)."

So there you have it they are not as big as they make out to be and not making much money plus they do not want to be audited!! It would be interesting if anyone would pay £1 at companies house to view their full accounting report, if you do post it on here or give out the info.... we would be very interested

Right please can everyone who's had experience of this please go to Watchdog, I had 2 interview's set up for tomorrow and another for either Wednesday or Thursday, I thought all my woes about finding a job were over...

Until I found this site! All of the interviews I had scheduled are from these dodgy dudes!

I've since cancelled my interviews, now knowing they are nothing more than commission only, door to door sales, something very different from the job description that made me want to apply.

Glad I haven't wasted anymore of my time and thought to do a bit of research!

Anyway, this has really made me very angry indeed. So, I'm going to Watchdog, and I think all of you should do the same, you never know, we might not be able to stop them but at least make people aware of what is going on.

Off to Watchdog I go...

I've already attended a two stage interview with a Company called JTM solutions, After slugging my sorry !!! around the streets until 9 at night i then arived back at the crappy office, i had to fill out my questionnaire to show how much of the brainwashing spiel that i had remembered. After i had completed this it was given a coursory glance. i sat down and waited about half an hour. Then someone appeared the manager of the "Company" he grabbed the guy who had taken me on my interview and whispered something in his ear. The guy who had interviewed me asked me to step out side of the building, he then informed that the company had hired all the people that they were for now and i hadn't made the grade. The guy then asked to take my number and instructed me to take his, He told me that he was due to be promoted and when he started his own company said he would give me a call.

Now this company like all the ones mentioned had the 5 Steps and the 8 Steps(Not forgetting to have a excellent work ethic) Lol. They are all following the same business model which is part brainwashing and part foot in door sales men.:T


Now I look in my inbox and what do i discover another email stating that i have an interview with Select Marketing Solutions!!! Hmm Ok sounds exactly like The earlier experience with JTM. Would you believe it, the address for the Place i'm now due to go for interview is in the same building very Suspicious!!!

From what i have learnt from the 2nd interview stage of this job you'll be walking around till 9 at night selling stuff to people who don't want it in the first place. If this wasn't my story it probably would be funny but its me who has to keep getting my hopes crushed. :cool::(

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! What a waste of time, i still need a damn job............:beer::(:(:mad::mad::eek:
