No they aren't. They are month ahead prices on NYMEX (New York Mercantile EXchange). If you overlay the graph with Henry Hub and SAP figures (UK System Average Price) you will see how little relation US natural gas prices can bear to the UK market - for much of 2007 they were nearly twice the price!
The UK spot price is something over 70p/therm right now (off the scale on that graph) and forward prices for this coming winter are close to £1/therm.
Now that's just childish.
Those graphs are a complete mess, noting can be deduced from them certaintly not
what you claim - what a load of garbage, and there are 3 graphs there !!!!!! are you doing?
Freezing old ladies maybe childish but Gordon Brown likes to do it. HE does not care who he freezes to death this winter. man, wonan or child(ish).0 -
And it is all expalined here:-

Which basically says our gas companies are ripping us off. Gas and oil prices are faling globall yet we are being asked to pay more? Why?0 -

It's perfectly simple. I just scaled the NYMEX curve and overlaid it onto a graph from the National Grid review of winter 2007/2008 which compares US Henry Hub prices to UK SAP prices. The NYMEX graph matches the American gas prices very closely, but not the UK prices. Therefore your claim that they are European gas prices is completely bogus. How on Earth do you find that hard to understand?

(but I already know that nobody who has already made up their mind what they want to believe follows the links I post, so I won't hold my breath).Freezing old ladies maybe childish but Gordon Brown likes to do it. HE does not care who he freezes to death this winter. man, wonan or child(ish).0 -

Erm, you'll have to point out which specific part says our gas companies are ripping us off, because I couldn't see it. All I see are what looks like slides from a presentation which show that the difference between Henry Hub prices and NBP prices fluctuates widely, which is precisely why concluding anything useful about European gas prices by looking at American gas prices is futile. In the short to medium term, when one is going up the other may be coming down and vice versa. A clear limit to the divergence can be established over the long term, but as it covers everything from 0.5 to 2.5, no predictions of the order of 30% are credible.
Nothing there disagrees with what I said. You'll notice it also shows that Henry Hub prices were double UK prices in the 1st half of 2007, just as I said they were.0 -

No, your comment was what was childish.
Again thats total rubbbish, that link is a blank page and your 'graphs' lack scales or full descriptions and hence are meaningles and invalid.
You will have to do a lot better than that I'm afraid, plucking figures and graphs out of the air is a non-starter.0 -
So you enjoy old ladies freezing to death by the way? Which gas company are you working for? Shareholder perhaps?
Assume you work for the Daily Wail ? Your posts are getting more and more hysterical and ludicrous - why don't you go and lie down in a dark room before you burst a blood vessel ?0 -

You'll like this one, it shows exactly why domestic gas prices have gone up. It's a graph of month-ahead gas prices for 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. I expect noise, bluster and abuse in reply. Don't disappoint me.0 -
I usually "post regularly during 'traditional' office hours, too. Make of that what you will....."
Apparently that means that I must work for an energy company! Stupid reasoning or what?
:rotfl:
Actually, I'd got you down as unemployed. Apologies if that's an incorrect assumption...Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
