It's my belief that there are many posters on here who work for energy companies but don't make it known. Quite a few seem to post regularly during 'traditional' office hours, too. Make of that what you will.....
I try to put "fair", and above all, balanced, points about the energy industry, people like the Daily Wail keep on churning out the same tripe about how we are "ripped off" in the UK by these nasty, evil foreign owned energy suppliers. In most cases this is just completely untrue !
It would now appear that because I (very) occasionally put forward the odd good word for the energy suppliers, I am now employed by the industry - and not only that spend all of my "working" day bashing out propaganda to MSE ! (Instead of ripping off more innocent old ladies ?)
The energy industry like any other plc will do its utmost to increase its profits - if they didn't make a profit - no energy supplies. As I said very recently, why does every one continually criticise, Centrica, eon, Exxon, etc, etc when there are plenty of other companies with much bigger profit ratios who are looked upon as paragons of virtue ? M & S for example had a profit ratio of twice the energy companies average in the last full year - yet you NEVER see a single story about M & S ripping people off !
But what the h**l, don't let the facts ruin a good story !0 -
I would wager that you get FAR FAR FAR more value for your money with m&s or tesco...customer service wise , choice wise and certainly convenience wise
I have NEVER complained about the prices just the PRACTICES

I usually "post regularly during 'traditional' office hours, too. Make of that what you will....."
Apparently that means that I must work for an energy company! Stupid reasoning or what?

As I said, lets have fair comment.
Yes , i think that probably comes under the `convenience` comment
But , yes i see what your saying but lets face it , the big 6 hardly make it easy to deal with them do they !0 -
There have always been threads on MSE that make comment on the dastardly practices of the Utility companies. We can all contribute or not to those threads where there has always been healthy, and indeed heated, debate.
However some threads are started by people simply requesting ‘technical’ information on tariffs, consumption etc and these should not be used as a vehicle to make irrelevant ‘political’ points.
My objection to 1carminestocky is that since July, when he ‘graced’ MSE with his presence, just about every thread he contributes to(I use the word ‘contribute’ in its loosest possible connotation) is a diatribe about the Government or Utility companies and BG in particular.
His posts are neither informed, balanced or fair. He has attacked several long term and knowledgeable contributors, making accusations that are predictably ludicrous. Yet has the temerity to report posters who have retaliated and ruffled his feathers.
His overall contribution to MSE is a disgrace!0 -

1carminestocky 108 posts thanked out of 506 = 21.3%
Cardew 1669 posts thanked out of 6285 = 26.6%
so fudging figures, blatant misrepresentation, posting during office hours regularly. To be honest I'll go all Cluedo and say you are the CEO of British Gas and I claim my £10 reward0
