I thought the top channel package was £52/month and adding £10 for HD and £10 for Multiroom, that comes to only £72 - so £86 looks very costly to me (and about £65 too much for my budget).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

A quick tot up on the website totals £88.75 per month, so not much saving really !Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0

Can anyone give an estimate of what we can expect to pay Virgin for the top package inc all the available channels in HD, all sports channles/movie channels an extra HD set top box, and multi room.
We currently get Sat TV via Sky, but retained our Virgin broadband and phone package. However, their CS has been appalling and I miss being able to record 2 other channels whilst watching another, so I would love to switch back.0 -
Just tried to haggle on £62s worth of TV, got absolutely no where - is it even worth trying or should I just get my £85 Quidco and be done with it?!0

Virgin's top package is VIP 50.
It includes 50 Meg broadband, unlimited phone calls to landlines and Virgin Mobiles, and Top TV package including Sky Sports and Sky Movies. Only Sky Sports 1&2 are available in HD though. You get a V+ HD Box, a V HD box and phone line as well.
Cost is £97.40 a month, although you do get it for £72.90 for the first six months.
Details here.

We've still got our original sky box and looking to change to HD+ via a 'deal' using the 'moving to Virgin' reason. Been with them for over 9 years. Don't have any premium packages but do have all the entertainment packs.
The cancellations department offered a free HD+ box & free install but no other deal, which was disappointing. I was expecting to get 6months free HD sub and actually mentioned this but the person I spoke to said that was the best deal they could give at the moment (based on the offers other folks have had, this doesn't appear to be true). The person I spoke to kept saying that their pricing was cheaper than Virgin so a deal on the HD sub wasn't an option.
I left it for now, saying I'd give it some more thought.
What do you think? Phone again tomorrow & keep pushing for the 6months free HD sub or just take the deal? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
