They should have had something on the order page that didn't accept the code, like on Tesco's or ASOS when it says that the code cannot be used. I don't think it's fair to issue and invoice for an amount but charge you more.2010 Comp wins: Lamaze baby toy, Cushelle koala, Frusli bars, knitted monkey, nursery rhyme DVD
Christmas sorted for my LO (apart from Frusli bars - they're mine!)0 -
I got an email saying the deal was wrong etc and I was charged £11.99 for two books, £1 frames and the postage! I agreed to pay as I wanted one for my DD and DS but I'm annoyed if they are letting others only pay 2p. I've emailed to complain and cancel but they've said that it's already gone to manufacturer but I can return once it's arrived
Like others its the principle really that I didn't know it was one per order or no free p&p with it and it told me that nowhere on the site. My daft fault for agreeing to pay the full price but it's not fair if they're then letting some go through at cheaper.0 -
We may have been in the wrong for using the code but they are in the wrong for taking an amount that we hadn't authorised. It is illegal for a company to do this - they are within their rights to cancel the order but certainly not within their rights to take more than was quoted or the amount on their confirmation email. Its only a small amount but it is the principal of the matter!0

is there an email address as i am worried now2013 wins...angry birds knex.0

ordered one book with free delivery stating 1p in confirmation email but the cheeky so and so's have helped themselves to £2
I'm definitely telling them that I have not authorised this amount and that they should return the £1.99 immediately otherwise trading standards will be informed. There are laws on distance selling which have been broken here and the amount is irrelevant.0 -

I got a response from my email this morning :
Dear xxxx,
Thank you for your email. Please allow me to explain. First the confirmation you received is only confirming what you entered into our website. This is not an invoice.
When we set out with this offer, we sent an email to a selected group of our customer base as a “thank you” and here is a special to get your Christmas shopping started. This email offer clearly stated that it was one book per customer plus P&H and could not be combined with any other offer. This was the only advertising we did for this special – via email.
Unfortunately there are many “special” websites out there that get hold of our specials along with the link for our special or sometimes they simply just provide the offer code for people to use. We unfortunately cannot control this type of behavior.
When customers, other than the ones that we sent the email to, use these links or offer codes through means other than from us, we do not want to “punish” these individuals as it is not their fault. Therefore as a gesture of good faith, we honor the special even though we did not send the special to them. Having said that we do restrict it to the terms of the email that was sent. These terms were very clear as are the terms and conditions of our website. It is one offer or the other.
When you entered the free P&H code you removed the 1p book offer code and your order came to us with the full price of the book with free P&H. However we made the assumption that you would prefer the 1p offer with P&H rather than the full book price with no P&H.
xxxx, we are not unique in our conditions of one offer or the other. We do not discount discounts.
Kind Regards,
xxxxxxx
