BB - that's a shame they might be moving - but having a plan at least gives YOU some control over a situation out of your control.

    (((hugs)))

BB- see how much you enjoy the teaching and if you do start sewing the seeds that you'd like to do it more, perhaps by the time the decision is made you'll be so sorted with teaching you'll not ned the admin:confused:

I have a confession - I bought a baby cookbook at lunchtime:o :o:o its by Annabel Karmel (who apparently plans the meals at Bean's prospective nursery:p ). As a self confessed foodie I am, to be honest, amazed I resisted for this long:p :o:o:o:o:o

  • jinky - depends if I was offered any really, I guess I need to see if I'm really cut out for it, but yes, if I left my admin job and there was regular courses needing filling, I could teach more, I haven't done any sums yet as to how much I'd need to do to compensate for it (as well as the hours I need already as a third income) and also the fact it's term time only. I will get getting paid around £16 an hour.

Cat - I know, it's a shame, itsn't it. I went into this job as a complete clean slate and thought I could really make a good career but although it's really sad, I am going to be the one making the decisions about what I do and when now, there's no point (if the move happens) in worrying about other peoples feelings if I say I'm leaving - the circumstances won't work for me in any way whatsoever. Even with a HUGE pay increase and still working part time, I'd really have to think carefully - there are lots of jobs between here and there I could do instead.

Luc - that would be a good way to go. Hopefully I'll be able to do the teaching and not end up not liking it as I'm committed to the courses until March. If I carry on with the teaching qualification all the way through to the diploma, I'll be qualified to be a lecturer at an FE College and so could maybe teach GCSE or A level Media Studies or stuff like that to 18+ year olds. That's a good 2 or so years away so until then, I'm just going to keep myself aware of the situation and just be that bit more pro-active about listening/looking out for opportunities.

    All part of the fun:D

    Welcome to you:T
I'll bare that one in mind!

I'm having a pig of a day at work! The problem recruiting for a Saudi company (apart from the blatant homophobia, sexism, stupid decision processes etc) is that they have their weekends on thursday and Fridays!

I have an interview workshop needing to be organised and 35 CV's needing feedback! In like days!

Oh well! I can but breathe and relax and drink the time away!

Friday tomorrow, but I know I have the feeling I need to be in work on Saturday as well! Except I'm paintballing so that will mean my Sunday is booked up now! Glad I'm paid by the hour at the mo! :T

    II'm glowing!!!!!!!

    Me too:p

Having a v. dull afternoon - no work to do, nothing to 'pad' to look busy and I can't even pretend to be working when chatting with you lot as you're all being so quiet:rolleyes: . I had a quick peek at the employer advice re handling maternity leave etc but had to close it when I got to the stillbirth section _pale_ didn't cheer me up any that's for sure:o

And I feel bloated having guzzled a sneaky can of Coke...

(right I'll get my coat and go somewhere else for a moan *slopes off dejectedly*)
