Day from hell just about over for me

4 hours in a hospital with MIL having tests, missed the funeral so OH had to go on his own, had to cheer myself up by having a fresh cream apple turnover and a bottle of lucozade in Asda car park before picking the lads up from school:rolleyes:

Back home now and I think I might have a bit of a kip on the couch after I have a cuppa I have given the kids a pasty for their tea, I am a bad mother to boot:D
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

This is my favourite box canvas, I got it from Ebay!
There are loads of excellent self-representing artists selling their wares on there!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • Eek, look at the dust on the plant!
    I'm ashamed!

I have enough trouble with 'get up, eat something, get dressed' without faffing about like that :o

You and me both! well normally - between Bean and Casper my morning routines has sharpened up a bit. I even made curry before work on Monday!!!

Hmmm - just trying to work out when I can fit in 3.5 days holiday between now and Xmas (bearing in mind I'm on study leave from 25 Sept to 7 Nov) and also, for next year, where I can fit in 13 days holiday between 14 September and 18 December, (and I already have 19 days tagged on either end of mat leave:D )

  • oooooooooh, I love that Linda.

When I moved here, I bought a couple of pieces similar kind of abstract style from Ebay. There are tonnes of great pieces and some go for very little money.

I got that one for £12 inc p&p!
    I was stunned that I wasn't outbid.

Hugs Louise because she sounds like she's had a carp day.

  • I've just been reading one about all the things you're meant to do in the morning to make yourself all wide awake and energetic - put your alarm clock at the other side of the room so you have to get up to switch it off, do exercise, do breathing exercises, drink hot water with lemon and ginger.. blimey, I have enough trouble with 'get up, eat something, get dressed' without faffing about like that :o

I'm reading Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway and this is the recommended morning routine (daily for 2 months!)

    1. As you awaken turn on your audio machine - choose the CD etc the previous night. This should be some kind of affirmation audio ie Inner Talk for a Confident Day. Lie there and let the thoughts into your head.

    2. AS you get out of bed, pay attention to the positive quotes you've collected and surrounded yourself with, on the wall, mirror, firdge etc.

    3. As you get dressed, play music that 'makes your heart sing'.

    4. At the same time of dressing, repeat your chosen affirmations of the day. Do this in front of the mirror for 10 minutes  and continue this through the day.

My OH would think I was barking mad if I started sticking hundreds of post it notes all over the house with 'I'm a lovely person' and what have you written on it!

This one (which looks fab in my kitchen against the new yellow) came with an envelope that contained a full refund!!!!!
The artist included a note to say it had ripped and he's fixed it but he didn't think I should pay for it as it was damaged.
You absolutely cannot see where it was ripped at all.
