I was told other week to wait for 24 hours after receving account numbers before passing them onto reps because I takes about 24 hours for the account to be useable if that makes sense?

Just been to deliver my orders and at least half of the recipients weren't home

Popped back to a customers house to collect her order from C15 and was having a chat with her and her hubby about delivery dates before xmas ... when she realised there were only 2 more deliveries after this one but 3 brochures she took C16 off me to give me an order on Saturday towards her current order :T

    Total orders currently £173 :D

  • Hey everyone!

Ive got a meeting with an avon sales manager person (whatever they called lol) on friday so hoping to start then! I am a bit worried because i am not a very 'forward' person so a bit scared to just knock on doors and ask people!

Was thinking of doing some flyers or something to deliver/leave in local shops with my details on to contact me if they want avon - do you reckon thats a good idea? Should i order them now, or wait and see if i can actually ebcome a rep?

Any tips will be welcome :) x

Put my order in yesterday - only £65 so not very happy. Originally my SL told me just to do friends and family, but I knew I wouldn't get many orders so asked if I could do my mums street and the one next to it which only has 6 houses on. She said I could have the streets - well, out of 26 books I only got about 8 of them back, and only 2 of those had ordered. I took one into work (work actually told me I wasn't allowed to put one in the staff kitchen area as it was classed as selling on the premises, but people could ask me if I had a book), so I just took one and told people I had it. I got 3 orders from there which actually made up most of my total.

My SL said I ought to add more stuff to the order to get it to the minimum so as not to get charged. So I've ordered a couple of bits for christmas fom the main brochure. I'm hoping it won't be like this every time, otherwise I think I'll have to knock it on the head!

Johanne, Hun, I know about the benefits situation - PM me what benefits you recieve and I'll let you know. If you're on income support could you tell me the reason, I'm not being nosy, it's just that the rules depend on the reason for claiming.

Mousie, I think you do have to pay NI on a second income, which is annoying, but there should be a helpline number in the pack that will clarify that :)

pinkpig, it does take time to build things up and get 'known' as the avon lady, but can I ask why did the sales leader tell you to just do friends and family? If you chose that, that's fine, but there should be a proper territory of more than a few houses for you if you ask for it. If your sales leader isn't helpful you may need to go above their head to your ASM - if you need to go down this route PM me and I will get the ASM's details for you.

silvercharming - I did say to the SL that I didn't want a huge round as I wouldn't have the time to do it so wanted to keep it a bit smaller, but she told me to do the streets until she contacted the ASM as it wasn't in her area. She said the two streets were fine but someone already did the others around there. TBH if they did the others I would have thought they would have done these 2 aswell because they're all close together.

She also told me I wouldn't need to register as self employed as I pay tax in my current job. She said that a friend of hers who works in a bank told her to put some money aside every time 'just in case'. Now I know she's wrong on that and have already registered as self employed, but if she's telling all the reps that she could be getting them into a lot of trouble!

    Hi all,
I'm not new to Avon, but haven't posted here before and wanted to ask a cheeky question :
Please does anyone have an Avon Aquamarine Bra in size 38b in their Avon stock? I have tried asking on the Avon website in the 'Wanted' section, but sadly to no avail....If you don't mind my posting here and are able to help, please PM me - I would be so happy to hear from you,

And herself into trouble too! It even says in your contract and the legal information sheet that you have to declare  I mean we all know that lots of people don't, and there is an awful lot of creative accounting goes on, but that's people's own lookout! You can't give people deliberately false information like that, it annoys me that so many people will say anything to get a sign up. Of course, if one of her reps got into trouble this girl would hide behind the fact it's in the contract and that she can't be expected to be a tax expert, or just deny it. Me, I'd rather get a recruit honestly, and be open with them from the start. After all, my reps earn me money and help me achieve my ambition, the absolute least I can do is not blatantly lie to them.

FYI I know a 'home worker' in a similar business to Avon who got caught by the revenue after eight years of business. She was forced to sell her house and had her account closed by the company concerned for bringing their name into disrepute.

Neffy, hi, I don't have one unfortunately. Have you posted in the wanteds on the avon reps site?... Ooops sorry, I should read your post more thoroughly. Have you tried flissy's?
