On the Daily Mail www today is a news article about an avon lady who earns £250,000 a year - just thought I'd share for anyone who'd like to read it

    Hi all,
I'm in quite a lot of debt and have just started mystery shopping and paid surveys and now i'm toying with the idea of avon. However my mum did it about 15 years ago and says she never made anything as you had to buy all the books and bags ect. I'm keen to give it a go and think people will buy in my area especially with christmas coming up but I have two questions. (Apologies if they've been covered) The amounts written in certain peoples signatures are they profits or sales? Do you have to sign up for a certain amount of campaigns?
    Thankyou

    Sarah

I can't really comment on the amounts in signatures although I think that is total sales, not commission

There is no minimum amount of campaigns that you sign up for, you could do 1 and decide it's not for you, however my advice would be if you do sign up then give it a good few campaigns as you have to build up people's trust especially if the previous rep in your area just disappeared
  • In C17 there is the free mascara and voucher. I have 3 customers who have ordered £31 of stuff from the qualifying pages (1 for £15, 1 £4 and 1 £12). Can I order 3 of the freebies?
  • Hi there

I'm new as an Avon rep.. Still only on my 3rd Campaign.

I had to submit an Additional order today as a couple of customers returned their forms late.

Does the additional order get delivered with the next campaign, or would they deliver about a week or so from the date of oredering like they do with regular orders?

Any help on this would be greatly received.

    Many thanks
    Lise

Hi Ivy, and welcome to the madhouse :D

I can only speak for myself here, but I average around £70 earnings (after paying for books etc) per campaign (every 3 weeks for most of the year). Not a fortune, but it certainly helps. I know that there is also more money to be made if you are interested in being a sales leader.

You don't have to commit to any number of campaigns, although there is a £15 signing up fee which will be deducted over your first 2 campaigns (£7.50 each time). You have to buy your books, but they get cheaper the more you buy. The cost is around 30p per brochure if you only buy 15 or so, but can go down to as little as 11p. You will need some sort of bag to put the book in to avoid it getting wet on the doorstep, but you can use really cheap sandwich bags to start with.

You don't earn commission as such, but get a discount on your order which you then sell to the customers at full price. You need a minimum of £78 (i think, but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong ;)) to earn a 20% discount on the whole order, and around £148 to earn a 25% discount. The order value includes everything you buy, including demo products, samples, books etc. Under the minimum order value, you will have to pay full price.

I'd say give it a go for a few campaigns - you don't know till you try, and this is a good time to start with Christmas coming up. Good luck - let us know how you get on

Oh no! My first campaign was rubbish but the thing with Avon is its not an instant money maker you need to build your customer base and your business to reep the rewards!
Hope you dont decide to jack it in as it is a good oppourtunity for those willing to put the effort in :)
