Don't worry, I'm sure we all panic about everything every camp (I always do), we just don't let on :rotfl:0 -

afternoon all...i have a problem. a customer ordered £69s worth last campaign. she always orders and always pays. this time she asked if she could pay in 2 installments. i said it gets complicated with changing campaigns etc but if its all within the next 2 weeks i didnt see a problem. so...1st installment of £30 was supposed to be on saturday. when i knocked i heard her little girl say 'that must me mummy come back' and her friend answered. she told me she had nipped to the shops so i said i would come back today as im doing rounds anyway.
knocked...no answer
just got a text from her saying shes sorry but shes had to go away cause of family problems and she still wants the stuff so could i hold it for her for 2 weeks? i said i will talk to the sales leader and see what she says...so instead im asking YOU...what do i do?
shes a good customer and i dont think shes making it up. i dont mind holding it for her but the only thing is that i need to order my next batch of stuff on tuesday night...and delivery will be the following monday. I would return it and re order it but im running two campaigns and her orders are from the oldest one so by then i wont be able to order it for the same price....please someone give me some suggestions.
Id be inclined to keep it... but then you have to pay for it out your own pocket... thats the only problem! Im currently sitting on £22.50 order for someone from campaign 13.... i submit campaign 15 tomorrow! So i think im just a soft touch!!:o
A bit of a complicated way of doing it BUT you could always credit it on tuesday before you put your order in..... therefore meaning you dont have to pay for...and then that gives you 36 days to return it which is enough to give her the 2 weeks shes asked for... then if she still doesnt sort it then send it back. If she does though you can collect her money and you will be recharged when they dont receive it back.
[silly moan] i was going out today and was walked past a house in my street when i heard a woman i recognised as one my customers b*tching loudly about someone and saying "well she only f**kin came for mine on saturday so shes must be late or something" which pricked up my ears as i collected her book saturday.. ( as she didnt leave it out on thursday and wasnt in when i knocked!) ...i couldnt go back on friday like usual due to personal commitments but put on the notes i put through to those who didnt leave the book out that it would be saturday id call back.... this woman would usually drop the order through my door if i missed her but hadnt this time......... then she goes "oh i'll just f**kin take it round now then".. id walked past the house by this point and when i turned round and looked she had what looked like a book in her hand and was heading to my house... i couldnt stop.. so i went where i had to go and when i got home sure enough theres an avon book from a different customer of mine - a girl who i know is her friend who is also friends with the woman who lives in the house i passed where this conversation happened.... the girl whose order it was id text that morning in one of my "group" messages to everyone who hasnt ordered yet reminding them tonight was the deadline..... so im wondering if id upset her somehow by texting her?? I dunno??
this girl ordered last time...so i tried to deliver her stuff on the thursday as usual, she didnt have the money, so she asked me to go back the friday, i did. she was out. so i went back monday whilst delivering the brochures and caught her in gave her the order and the book..... i then went back on thursday as usual to collect.... she wasnt in and hadnt left the book out! So i put a note through as usual and called back saturday morning.. and she said she wanted something but still hadnt wrote the form out so could she pop it through my door later that day... so i said ok.... still nothing.....hence the text today! That EVERYONE who a/ hasnt give me the book back and b/ i havent had an order from and c/ i have a mobile number for got.....
So i dont know what ive done wrong for them to be !!!!!ing about me???Infact id say id gone above and beyond the call of duty to serve this girl.... really really upset me to know 2 of my customers where !!!!!ing about me when ive done nothing wrong!!

Oh dear, some people are so rude! I like to think the best of people but sometimes, geez, they can be right little...ooh, if only I could get my hands on them and wring their necks. I wouldn't stand for that if I were you. If you don't wring their necks for me, at least send them an overly, pointedly polite text :P Just make them feel bad for making you feel bad. *shakes fist*0 -
awww how awfull for you to hear that conversation, did she see you when she was talking as hopefully it could of been about someone else. just smile through gritted teeth if you have to unless you find out it is about you then have a quiet chat with the girl asking if ud upset her about the text as it was sent to all your customers. Good luck0

johanne, congratulations on getting a part time job that means you get to keep your avon discount.
These "ladies" that are customers of yours, do you know if by nature they normally swear? I have a friend who is always saying fcuk this, fcuk that...etc, etc, when having a perfectly normal conversation. So anyone overlistening would think she is mad about something when she's not, it is the way she talks.
My OH often swears when talking and he's not angry or mad, just swearing as he is talking and I have told him he has to stop now, our DS is copying everything he says and the other day I told him he couldn't do something so he told me to fcuk off. I walked away and ignored him. Hoping he is soon going to forget that one.
It could be these "ladies" are like my OH and friend and saying profanities is normal in their daily conversation.0 -
hi Guys,
Me and my wife have been doing avon for about 12 months and are at a fairly mostest customer base now, as per people said no more etc,
My Question is, people move houses and change there minds over the year, is it worth re posting books on old house's risking losing books whilst doing our usual campagin or do a leaflet drop stating we are the avon reps for the area and if they would like us to drop a book in future to give us a call ( a sort of friendly gesture leaflet)
idea behind this is to pick up possible more customer for the christmas period
I think Elliebee has a template of a letter she puts through people's letterboxes that have previously said no to an avon book.
Along the lines of "I know you have previously said you do not wish to receive Avon books, but I thought you might like to have a look at this current one.etc, etc."
If you PM her, and she does have it, she would be happy to send it to you.
good luck with your recanvass.0 -

Oh heard a rumour too. You know those pull along fancy shopping bag/trolley things you see young women with now, not just for older women you know.... Avon are bringing out their own branded one.
Think it was Lozza1985 who suggested using one of these to transport orders and books around rather than a bag on your shoulder. I mentioned to my SL that I wished Avon had one of these pull along trolleys as I want to get one, that would make it easier for me. And she told me, Avon were bringing one out....
Lol yes it was me - apparently at live your dream (a thing for SL, I didn't go lol) they did give some of these away - but whether that means they will start selling their own I'm not sure.
I got my trolley from gardeners world live lol, it's really good, folds up completely flat, and is pretty sturdy when constructed and is plastic so easily cleanable. Only problem is it doesn't have a cover over it lol so stuff can get wet - but saves me hurting my shoulders!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
