Possible newbie here......
I did avon for a bit about 7 years ago and I found it a real struggle as I live in a VERY rural area, and I was new to the county, let alone the area! I need to start earning a little extra and was thinking about it again.
THis time I have contacts at my sons school, swimming club etc etc which I didn;t have before.
Does anyone here operate a rural round? I would be interested to know how you make it work and if it pays in the long run..... The area I live in is a farming community and there is not a lot of money around....
Thanks

Does anyone have a 'youravon' webpage? I was told by someone that its good to have but dont know if it is or if its genuine, i mean it asks for your area number and account number, i like to know something is real and ok before putting in my information.
I've let the Avon slip a bit this year, must get back into it fully, lost the will at the start of the year when i wasnt making anything - if anything i was losing money by having to put the difference to.
Really want to find more customers and not sure if the web is a good way of doing that or not?

Grrr! when I delivered my books last week, I got to a house on my territory which had a book for the same campaign sitting on the doorstep. That's strange I thought because I hadn't yet delivered it. I picked up the book and flicked to the order form and it was another rep's! I promptly took down their name and number and left the book on the step (there was no order placed) and I put my book through the letter box with my voucher and went about my delivering.
After I finished I called the girl on the form and said that she had delivered to one of my houses. She asked the number and street and told me that this was one of her friends (so I eased up!) and she told me on a separate matter that she was really annoyed with Avon because they keep giving her territory that other reps already have. I told her which streets I do and she made a note not to do them, which is a relief on my part - I was ready for a fight after reading some of the stories on here. I gave her some advice and ideas and said she can call if she needs any more advice. She thanked me and that was that.
But that is not the major problem here!! I went to collect my books up and when I got to 'the' house involved in the above no book had been left out for collection so I knocked on the door and the girl answered. She denied all knowledge of receiving a book from me and said that she didn't want to place and order. She was quite rude. I was a little shocked to say the least and am not sure what to do. I don't know if the rep had said something to her and I could understand if I was rude or something like that but I wasn't. Do you think that I should carry on delivering to this house? or leave it out of my round? or maybe try a drop in a couple of campaigns?0 -
Found this idea online ... 'With Avon using more high profile stars such as Reese Witherspoon in their advertising campaigns why not use this to your advantage.
On the Brochure pages that have a picture of Reese, write down a list of all the Avon makeup and the shades that she is wearing and tally it up to how much it would cost to 'Look Like Reese'.
Photocopy your list and include it with all your brochures, or better yet stick it right to the front of the brochure.
Everyone wants to look like a celebrity and you've just made it easy for them. You could even give them a discount if they buy all the makeup on your list.'
I think this is a fab idea and could look quite good if done on the pc with photoshop (wouldn't take long at all) but how do I know what makeup they are wearing? as it doesn't say in the brochure! would you just make it up/multiple guess from what you think it looks like she is wearing?

She was probably helping her friend out, if her friend deliveres to her i wouldnt bother her again0 -

Mambury - i'm a newbie and live in a rural town. I haven't been given an area yet as there seems to be lots of reps here. But like you i am surrounded by farming communities which seem an ideal customer for avon, as they can get it delivered etc.
I would be interested to see any replies you get. I presume it would be best by word of mouth or even advertising that you do Avon in the local post office/shop?? that is how i am going to try doing it i think.0 -
Hi All,
can anyone tell me why do customers tick the "no thank you, do not leave any more Avon books" but then place an order in the same book?
Is anyone on C15 or C14, that could place an extra order for me for products from the clearance book? The only problem is I need the products delivered by the 26th to me. These are for 2 regular customers who are going on holiday next week and I have told them I can't place these orders but would try and see if someone else could for me.
Happy to pay P&P and extra £2.50 if applicable. Thank you!0
