Hayley, you made me laugh.
Ladies I am so sorry you or your partners have been involved in such horrible accidents, I believe everyone should retake their test every 5 years as people get lazy or deliberately drive how they want. That's how accidents happen.
Pleased to hear no one was seriously hurt.
I agree to an extent, my dad has been driving over 40yrs and has only had one accident and it was another stoopid woman ( I wish it would be a guy for a wee change ) drove around a bend and never followed the road and drove straight into my dad, Luckily for him he was driving a steel roller at 10mph so he didn't even feel her hit him and her car was written off completely crushed. but that has been his only car accident.
I think people do get complacent and just think they know best, luckily Ian has only been driving 2yrs so he is still very competant.
and the good thing means having the hire car it hasn't affect my Avon orders as a lot of them are from my home town 12miles away :jLife is what you make it;)0 -
Hi i am thinking of signing up to avon. Do they give you an area straight away or is it ok to just sell to friends/family first??
What do i get when i sign up?? how many brochures?? do i have to pay for the brochures on top of the £15 sign up fee??0 -
Ok - you can choose to sell to just friends/family/work colleagues - whoever you know, and also if you want you can be allocated a local territory to take your books to. It's up to you, obviously if you know loads of people then you probably wouldn't need a territory.
When you sign up, you will be given brochures for your first, and your second campaign. Avon only refunds us sales leaders for 20 books for each of these campaigns - so as a minimum you should receive 40 books in total. Which for friends & family would be more than enough anyw
Order forms are free, and you get one free delivery each campaign which is when you receive your products. All returns can be done free of charge, by giving them to your delivery person to take back with them.
You will need to start buying brochures when you place your first order - they are £4.86 for 15 (so approx 33p a book) but after that point it is only 48p for each pack of 5. You can use your current campaigns brochures, as well as the previous brochures, so you can actually get 6 weeks worth out of your books - meaning you don't need to order quite as many as you would first think, and also means you can do a little "creative ordering" in order to maximum your profit. hth xAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Thanks lozza1985, just out of interest, i see your sales are pretty high, how many books do you drop on average per campaign to get those sort of figures??0

I do get my books cheaper with being a sales leader but before when I was only a Rep I bought maybe 60 a campaign, so I always had 120 books on the go at any one time, as with working full-time me & my partner find it easier to just try and get most of the territory done in one go. I have a territory of about 280houses, as I'm quite lucky and there's loads of territory free near me, so the area manager could give me more after I'd been doing it a few months & she could see I could get good sales (they have their own targets to meet!). I don't have many family/friends to sell to though - I get maybe £100 a campaign from f&f and the rest from my territory. It isn't much fun collecting books in when it's raining though lol!
If you sit down and write a list of everyone you could give a book to, you'd be surprised how long a list you can get - especially as if you ask people to show their friends/family/work colleagues/neighbours you can increase your customer base loads without much work on your part!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
I have had an email off my ASM to tell me im still 3rd best selling rep in the area and apparently me and 2nd place are "sooooo close"... really chuffed with that!
Specially considering i did a bit of digging and found out that the number 1 selling person is one the best in the country with sales of like 25k a year seriously :eek::eek:
So reallly in "mere mortal" rep status im 2nd best in the area and close to being number one... well thats how im seeing it:p:p:rotfl:

Hello,
Just signed up to be an avon representative through the avon website. Was wondering how long does it take for them to get back to you??
I can't wait to get started!0 -
Avon is getting lots of members because of its good ROI. I personally knew some people that earned decent money from it especially those housewives that are left on home.0

Hi Skint-Student :hello:
Sorry no-one has answered you yet - it's not normally this quiet, but I guess lots of people are on holiday
I can't give you a definite answer as I didn't sign up online, although I wouldn't think they would take more than a week or so. Once you do get signed up, you'll have lots of support and info on here (once everyone is back from hols anyway) and if you'd like to PM me I have several templates etc that you might find helpful.
Good luck!'Better to ask a silly question than to make a silly mistake' Elliebee's Mum
