  • Hi All,

I've just started with Avon and am busy distributing my catalogues. The lady who signed me up wasn't very imforative about the tax situation.

So I have a full time job already, and I assume I have to declare myself as self employed for this additional job. But I guess my question is does this mean the commission I earn disappears. I know i would pay tax some months later but I'mt just fearful that a tax bill will arrive on my mat that I haven't put anything away for. It's got me thinking will it be worth it?

    Thanks

Hi Danielle thats a great idea
about asking the make-up artist students :j
I never thought of that, even paying them £20 a student for 4 hours is good money :D

I tend to add a flyer every 4-5 campaigns or when I am giving to a new customer explaining before they order foundation or lippys or perfumes to phone me first and I will try and help them with samples, at 50p per foundation I don't give them to ever customer but if someone asks for a sample I tend to give them the colour they ask for and one either a step darker or lighter. so they have an idea of colours.
It saves on returns in the long run, lippy and perfumes I always have loads of stock and until recently I gave out 2 lipstick samples every order varying it but got to hard knowing how had been given what samples so
now I plug set samples per campaign this campaign I plugged
    Unscripted aftershave
    Little White Dress
    24k Pink Lippy
    Iced Coffee
    Anew 24hr eye cream
    Solutions Max Moisture
    Skin So Soft sample too,

It has worked though as so Far I have an order for Unscripted and I only started last night for C11 :T
Think I may try a summer BBQ for my customers and see if I can get a hold of a make up student through the college ;)
A few bottles of wine, me and my sis can do nails and get my sisters friend to do hair and give them the full works :T:j might help boost folk before a wee holiday

Thanks for the wee tip Danielle that was a top tip
Life is what you make it;)

  • Hi all

Been AWOL for a while as trying to sort out the living room after the flood. Got my carpet on Monday and my sofa yesterday, so in the home straight now!

Right I need to get back into my Avon, spent way too much on new stuff for the house so really need to up my sales and not spend my commission:o

So is it bad that I haven't done any canvassing for C11 yet? I have been snowed under with work on the house that I haven't even had a chance to deliver all my orders yet either! I have 9 days until my order is due so I intend to leave the books for 2 days max, going to deliver my first set of C10's and C11's tomorrow, hopefully 30 of each, will have to make a couple of trips! Next campaign everything will be back to normal so I hope my orders will be back to normal. I haven't put in hardly any effort these past few weeks because of the house problems.

Lyndsey, yup, I had the call last night! I mentioned territory problems but totally forgot delivery problems. I was on the phone for about 15 minutes, disturbed my painting the edges of the hall:rolleyes:

    Okay girls, I need motivation!!!!

I've ordered the loyalty pack. And already told one customer I will be starting to do this if she is interested.

I don't make anywhere in the region of all you in sales, let alone commission, so need all the help I can get. I emailed my ASM explaining my territory rubbish and need more roads. When I told OH about it, he said he was not suprised I wasn't getting many orders on one particular road, if you walk down it, you can just tell it is so not worth leaving books there, lucky to get any back.

Hi Everyone. Avon newbie here. A customer has asked if the free gift glimmersticks Eyeliner in C10 is "soft" or "hard". Could anyone help please?

Echo - I order from different camps all the time, say if I am doing C10 & 11 and someone orders a lipstick from C10 for £8 but in C11 it's £5 I will order it from C11 and still charge £8. Does that make sense?

Still no replies on whether anyone has bought the loyalty pack???

I have had lots of orders for the lipstick that's 7 colours, can't remember the name of it now. Hope they all like it!! And someone has ordered a watch for £20!
