    1) When customers put BOGOF's on the order form ... should they be putting in the amount of the product (ie 4.00) or should they be putting "0.00" as it's free ?
I've got orders for BOGOF's and some have done it one way - and some the other way .... so I'm now very confused, especially as they've all done the "order total" box differently as well .... some have listed the product amount in the product row ... but have not included it in the "total" box - others havent
The first thing to remember here is that the order forms are only for your information, so as long as you know what the customer means, then that's fine. You don't even need to have an order form - some of my customers just text or email their orders

    2) Does the " actual price" of the BOGOF item count towards the count towards the commission level - even though it's a free product ?
No they don't, although everything that is charged is, even your brochures and HT (demo) items

    3) What happens if a customer orders 2 x the same product from a BOGOF where it states "cheapest item free" .... do they still get one free ?
Yes, the 'cheapest free' bit only applies if one is more expensive than the other. Then they pay for the more expensive item and get the other free

Remember that Avon don't know who has ordered what (on your order), so when they invoice the items they will look at the total items ordered from that offer and charge the most expensive ones then show the cheaper ones as free.

If it is, say, 3 items for £6, then they will appear on your invoice at £2 each regardless of the actual individual cost.

I'm afraid that all sounds hopelessly complicated, but once you've had an invoice it will hopefully become clearer ;)

My Mum used to say, 'better to ask a silly question that make a silly mistake'
and believe me, we've all had to ask many a 'silly' question on our way through the Avon maze (not to mention making a few silly mistakes), so you're not alone! :D

Anyone like to fill in the bits I've got wrong or forgotten........

thats a bit naughty isn't it?. say someone orders 2 of the same items from a cheapest price free for £3 each and another customer orders 2 of a higher price cpf, same items at £5 each. Avon will only discount £6 instead of £8?
but yeah i suppose avon don't know whos ordered what do they.

thanks for all the info, i always check this thread.
  • Can someone explain the commission to me? I haven't been told what happens when I place my order, do I have to work out how much commission I get or do Avon just ask for the total minus the commission? Does the commission show on your invoice?

Morning Caitlin, When you recieve your invoice (can view online too) it will have figures for total, you owe and you earnt. I was surprised when i start at how well laid out the invoiced are. You only pay avon the difference, you don't need to pay all and then recieve your comission back.

Good question - it puzzled me at the start, but it's actually quite simple!

Avon will charge you 25% less than the customer price, so:

Order value £400 (which I only chose because it's an easy amount to work with - at least when you're c**p at maths as I am - not because it's any sort of benchmark ;)).

You will pay Avon £300 plus the cost of your brochures and any other items without discount, so your bill might be £325. The remaining £75 is your commission. Your invoice will break it down as customer price, price to you, and 'you earn'.

Don't forget that the prices in HT aren't quite what they seem, as you get no discount on them. Also, when the items appear in the brochure, they will sometimes be part of an offer of some kind (free gift with a certain spend, or get a second item for £1) which means that you really have to order from the brochure rather than use what you aready have.

I always collect enough to pay my Avon bill, then everything after that is my own :D

Yes, but don't forget that most of the time it works in our favour :D
They don't know that your customer actually ordered from C8 not C7, which was cheaper, nor that the £15 spend for a free handbag or whatever, was actually five customers spending £3 :rotfl:

  • Thanks giggles_alot and Ann, it is hard to get to grips with all the things, I haven't had a real chance yet to look at the website or how to order yet. I have a feeling I am going to spend a lot of Friday evening doing this:rotfl:My order is due on 1 May (Friday) and luckily I finish at 4pm so as soon as I get home I will be straight on placing my order. I am going to try my best to have it all worked out on Thursday though as I should have all my orders in by then.

So just got back from collecting my cats I put out on Friday. I got 15 back out of 32 (I know, not great) but it's nice and sunny out so I have a feeling most people are out. I intend to go back later this evening. However out of the 15 I got 1 order for £11.25 and hardly anyone ticked the box to say they weren't interested. I also saw 3 customers who asked for more time as there are a few things they want to order, one is especially interested in the facial filler at £20 and I told her she will get her free beauty bag and free gift if she orders that;). So I should get another 3 more orders from those customers, no idea how much they wil be for. So I still have 14 to collect, hopefully there may be an order or two in them.

I dropped off another 7 cats today to the end of the street and that is one side of my territory completely finished. My other half will be on C8 when I start up again next week. Can I ask, as half of my territory will be behind a campaign, will things be in stock, such as the free gifts? I am a bit concerned about the watch in C9, I think this will be very popular and I don't customers to miss out on such a good offer just because they are a campaign behind? Has anyone else encountered this?

Another question about the LOA awards for 1st and 2nd campaign. I see if I do hit the £250 mark for both LOA 1 and 2, then I get the Bumper sample selection plus the Level 1 Make-up sample selection. Would I get 2 of these if I hit £250 in LOA1 and 2 or just the one? It isn't clear on the form.

Also I see the starter kit for £10 which has samples in it too, does anyone know if this is worth it?

Lyndsey I just turned 29 and I am hoping to get the 30+ kit, I just need someone to order another £10 in the anew range for me to get it. Hopefully you will get more orders on Monday. I am sure you will hit MOV no problem. Have you tried some local hairdressers or shops? My target is to earn £50 every 3 weeks, so I am hopeful I can hit it. I have a good feeling about my next campaign though as by then I will have my whole territory on one of the campaigns. I am doing the same and having some on C8 and some on C9, it makes it easier for me as it's too much to cover in 3 weeks with just one set of catalogues, especially as I seem to lose quite a few to customers that never answer their door:rolleyes:

Hope everyone else is doing well this campaign:T I find it strange that everyone has different order and delivery dates, I would have thought we would all pretty much be the same...

I will give them both until Tuesday and then pop back and let them know the order has to be in for Thursday;) The woman who is interested in the facial filler hasn't put in the order yet, here's hoping she orders it!
