  • I handed my books out yesterday and it was ruddy hard work. I have 252houses and 80 books (40- C18,40- C1) soI just did one or the other as my ASM advised. She was going to bring me more books round but I'm so glad she hasn't. Going to sound really daft here but.... don't you think some houses look scary!!! Normally would just think what have I got to loose but since my road is my territory I avoided a few!!! Ended up with a few left over that I posted in the evening after a motivation talk from OH :)
Drove round this morning and noticed a few had already been put out so collected them up (no order but at they were decent enough not to chuck them). Getting nervous for Friday now really apprehensive (begining to wonder what I've done TBH) ! Hope I have at least one order. Next time I'm only delivering to those who have ordered this time I think.

Quick question what do I do with the sales order form keep both copies until the stock is here and enclose bottom sheet with the order OR post the bottom sheet back to the customer at the time of placing the order?

  • Hi MissL2, :hello: Don't worry - we all felt like that at the start (frankly ALL the houses loooked scary to me :D )

I find that most customers will give both copies of the order form back, so I just keep them and put the under copy in with their order.

    Good luck!

    I agree with Ellibee.

On my first house drop with C17, I also avoided some houses as I thought that no way would I get my book back, let alone an order. I felt a bit snobby but first impressions count and it's up to me who I deliver to at the end of the day.

This time with C18 though, my OH did the book drop and I only got half the books back but 4 new customers. I just always panic that they won't pay up when I go to deliver the goods.

  • Diasaster averted, ty to my lovely ASM :D

She phoned Avon & got to the bottom of it - it turns out there's another rep somewhere in the UK who only does it online (or summat????) & we share same name !!!! Mine's quite an unusual first name & pretty unusual spelling of my surname too (E on end of the norm), so it was looking like I had 2 accounts. Anyway, although it's still showing Held, she said it should be free for tonight & it won't delay my delivery :D Phew !!!!

How did you convince him into that one.. what a star:j My OH level of support has been ordering me the red and white underwear (only joking he has been great really)

I think I'm on the other scale of scary... one of the houses in my territory has a brand new Lamboughini parked on his drive! I know he's probably dead normal but I half expect him to chuck the book at me in some diva-ish way!! Then there are houses that just don't look lived in that spook me a bit :o
Also had the trauma of parking my DD up in her buggy whilst I went to post 1 book only to come back to her pushchair rolling down the hill:eek: that resulted in me leaving out any houses where there wasn't room to take her to the drive or somewhere flat to park her :p

Oh...and then dogs!!! Had a couple of barking dogs that made me pull my book back-scared to death that 1 would bite the plastic bag and choke-I'm so daft!! Then there was a house with a cat flap under the letterbox. Went to post a book and this massive dog shoved its head through the catflap and started barking... I nearly pooped :D Needless to say I ran off with my book.

I have SO much respect for our postie!

Thanks for all your encouraging words ladies

Does anyone know why Avon don't offer plastic bags for their reps with territory to cover like some other 'catalogue' based companies do?

can anyone help me with national insurance please? I got the exempt thingy, and I pay NI through my job anyway. then today I got a bill for £9.20 that has t be paid by jan.
    i really dont understand!

LOL - I think everyone's Mum probably said that :D

Now, if you want a real laugh, just take a look at the 6 page, highly coloured, Christmas brochure that Avon want us to print off at our own expense :rotfl: I find the cost of ink bad enough as it is, without printing several dozen flyers!

Got my C18 order today and it's all sorted out now. Thankfully, there wasn't anything missing this time (well apart from an Arabian Glow gift set, and that had more than a little to do with me being a cheapskate and ordering from the clearance in HT :p ). I just phoned and said very indignantly that I'd ordered it from C17 and it wasn't on the invoice. All the customers who ordered from C18 are getting a mini KitKat and an Options sachet with their new book, but the only problem is that I'm having to remember to warn everyone in case the dog/kids/husband gets at it first :D

The other problem, of course, is having to turn out this evening in the freezing cold.....................:snow_grin
