Thanks Kerry, oh and thanks for the group hug a few pages back! It's been weird but I'm getting back on track now!
Returns... I've got 3 separate pages of returns (did them on separate days online), so should I use 3 different bar codes?
Also, 2 of the returns are part of the "spend £x for free handbag" C16 offer, so I guess I should return the handbag else I'll get charged for it. I'm sure I entered the handbag on the returns form online but it's not on the print-out, so maybe I can use the Returned Products Book for that? (I am temporarily without a printer!)
Well I've used 3 barcodes for each page of returns (better safe than sorry), taped them all to the box.
I'll send the handbag back with the next order, but will check the time period first and if it's out of time I'll chalk it up to experience and keep it for myself!0 -
silvercharming wrote: »Blimey, who is your area manager Shelley? Did you read your contract? It says there that it's your responsibility to declare it! You may not have to pay anything out, but you still have to register self-employed, and anyone who tells you otherwise to get your signature is despicable. Because if you got caught, it would be you that got into trouble not them, and all ASMS and SLs know fully well that you have to declare. Sorry but that just makes me so angry!!! Seriously, who is your ASM?
I was told not to delclare it either as i wasnt self employed it was "just like doing the catalogue" and apparently for the same reason i didnt need to tell the benefit office either!  (i was recieveing Maternity allowence which allows you to work 10 days during maternity leave but you need to tell them exactly when even if you only do 1/2 an hour in a day!) Of course i ignored my ASM, have already sorted it all with the benefits office and HMRC is on my to-phone list once the housephone charges itself today
Well my first order has come... all present and correct and even an extra pack of order forms for free:p
I got my starter pack and was disapointed i got "u" and not bond girl... means ive got to actually BUY myself the bond girl now cos i like that better  :rotfl: I also got the "£15 demonstration bag" as part of my starter kit instead of the bag on the flyerIts much nicer though and im not complaining - except ive broke the elasticbit inside my removable make up bag already
But i can live with that..
TOTALLY avoned out yesterday... started at 9am when i got my delivery and bagged up all my individual orders, went around my territory with order reminder slips for everyone who'd ordered..... then went to my sisters to deliver her stuff..... then sat and put together 82 books/bags/slips/newsletter/order forms...... all needing me to write my rep details on each form as my stickers havent arrived. In the end i was still doing avon at 3am this morning!
Now today i have to deliver the orders which are necessary and drop 79 of them books through doors....... doesnt seem worth it for the £40ish i made in commission:o0 -
Grrr we have just struck off another customer, she usually orders every other book about £30 a time, went round last Friday she didnt have any money asked to call back Sunday she still didnt have any, asked to call round today guess what , yep no money and she said she might have some on Saturday !
The wife told her thats its going back and the woman asked for the latest book to be left, the wife told here she wasnt welcome to order from here anymore.
Bit annoyed as we paid the bill last week and was waiting for thismoney to do some xmas shopping :mad:0 -

KM, If you've got to place your order on the Monday, do you put your returns in the Friday before and this sorts out the amount you have to pay?MiniLauraRocks wrote: »Campaign 17 has been my best by far this year - im doubling my usual orders. Im all set up for self employed status now and officially declared etc so feeling a lot better about avon. My ASM has not been in touch despite several emails to her and to Avon Customer Services - all tehy say is they will forward my emails to her!
Will add more information to the first post with some more hints and tips picked up along the way - I assume most people still read the first page when joining thread?
Is the party tips post up and running yet?
Sorry you're having such an awful service Laura! I'd try and find out some names of higher up people in Customer Services and send them a stern letter! (I like writing stern letters).
Also, perhaps on the front page could you put in big bold "You must advise HMRC to declare you are self employed. Despite what you may be told by your Sales Leader or Area Sales Manager, it is a legal requirement. You have 3 months to register. If you do not register you may be subject to a fine." or something like that. I've just read another post where an ASM has told a new rep that they don't need to register, how can these people risk getting other people in trouble and getting fines! :mad:well ive just collected (or well tryed!) the brochures i delivered on friday!
ive only managed to get 4 back!!and hardly anyone was home!? three of those collected said they did not wish to recieve one again!!!
when do most of you collect?i take it evening is best?
im starting to think that this avon is just not for me?it seems more hassle than it is worth?
Shelley, I think as other's have said, and a lot of us have found, is that people will wait to see if you're coming back first. So definitely worth sticking with it for at least 3 campaigns. One bloke virtually threw the book back at my OH and said 'don't want any more of these - don't you know people haven't got any money?' Charming!!!
I think I'd say "people still need to wash!"
Re. the BG007, I got some money makers, gave samples to everyone who placed an order on the previous campaign, and the closest I got to an order was someone who'd written it on the form then crossed it out! I said if you change your mind I've got some in stock for £12+free gift, she said no because it didn't last long. It's probably what's put most people off... I think I would've done better if I hadn't given out samples! The stuff is nice but doesn't last for much more than an hour. I love the Christian Lacroix Rouge, that lasts much longer, and also the Perceive gift sets they've got on sale, that smell stays for ages!0 -
Thanks madmentaldede
I'm sure in your next campaign your do well
Yeah i do find it easy, i dont really do anything haha that might be a really bad way of putting it but most of the people that order off me are from my mums work so i have never even seen the people that order like £80 everytime. But the past 2 weeks i'm like right i have to give doing houses ago and it seems like it's working
i have 5 new people that have ordered from me.
How do u find your territory?
Hey,
Im only just about to start my new territorry, on Friday ill drop books off then arrange to pick them up on monday, see how that goes. I have been a bit like you my last order was all family and friends got £379 in orders and I know ill get a load again this campaign off them but I really need to start doing my territory now aswell.
Wish me luck;)0 -

Hiya everyone not been on for a while. Got my first avon delivery today, just finished sorting it. Thought i'd made a huge mistake cuz when ilooked at avon's total compared to mine there was £30 difference. Thankfully it was just me not bing able to add up correctly:o although there is a random differecne of 85p
. There were a couple of mistakes tho. One made by customer - they had ordered summat from c17 but wrote all info down for c16 but at c17 prices. there's a difference of £6, not really sure how to approach it. Then the second mistake was partly my fault n partly the customers. They had ordered counting jar from c16 but had written it on c17 order form!
Other than that i managed to make £41.42 commission so i'm really pleased. It'll go nicely towards paying off my cc.
I've also decided to had out c18 and c1 together so my customers have longer to order, c18 has to be ordered in 2wks!
Everyone is doing really well with there orders, i still feel like i'm fining my feet. Good luck with next campaign everyone:D£387.39/£196.46

Even the ASMs don't know yet! My ASM was round mine most of today [STRIKE]skiving off work[/STRIKE] mentoring me and waiting for legal to get back to us about an ad we are putting in jointly, and another ASM called to ask her if she knew yet, my ASM said it's still being finalised.
BUT it's going to be a minimum £100 worth of products, with a selection of items from all of the different product categories showing off the 'best' of Avon. And your ASM is correct, there really is only 50 per area and once those are gone, they're gone!0 -
Hi ladies, my brain has decided to take the morning off, I'm waiting for my Avon delivery and still not got the returns box ready!
I have in front of me:
> Returns box with products in
> Returns forms (both copies) printed from Avon website
> A set of carrier return labels
> Returned products book
What do I do with these ingredients?
Hi lynsey - long time no see! How are you? Have you moved out yet? Are you going to the meeting on friday? I thought I would go along for a bit, be nice if friendly face there!
