Hi.
Think Iv'e done this right!!
Have been reading this post for a few days now (took me that long to get through it all!) and wanted to join and post to say thanks to all the ideas I've picked up.
I've been doing Avon for (I think) 9 campaigns, this time around anyway, did it twice before when I lived in London, 3rd time round is deffinatley the best.
Last order I put in, c16, was my biggest so far at just over £400 and am hoping to beat it this time, but am a few days down as was away for half term last week and order goes in on Weds.
Anyway, just thought I'd say hello, just off out now to deliver some more orders and take my eldest to footie training!

My SL is now on holiday, and I don't have the contact details of my ASM so that's still up in the air. I've still got books to get back in and have £113.50 in orders so far (plus about £50 worth that my mum is ordering), which isn't a lot, certainly not compared to how much my sister gets, but I'm very happy to have met the minimum order value. I've had 2 people tell me that they already have a representative out of the 120-odd, one of whom told me that 'the lady that does it here only orders for a few customers, so it's not fair that someone is poaching on her territory'. I hope I can get this sorted out soon; I hate to think that my actions are perceived in that way!0

Im only just about to start my new territorry, on Friday ill drop books off then arrange to pick them up on monday, see how that goes. I have been a bit like you my last order was all family and friends got £379 in orders and I know ill get a load again this campaign off them but I really need to start doing my territory now aswell.
Wish me luck;)
Hiya
It's a bit mad that there's someone just like me out there, i bet there's loads of us really. My orders have always been around £350 but i'm going to stick to doing houses for sure now as i now have £618 in orders and thats still with 2 orders to come in, i went and put 14 books through peoples doors 2day and one women came to the door and asked when i wanted the order back and if she had to pay for it when i picked the order up, so it sounds like she's going to be ordering something.
Good luck0 -
all except 2 odrers delivered.. everyone had the money ready... only ONE mistake, there was a necklace someone ordered missing (think it might have been my mistake cos it only says 1 on the invoice so i guess i ordered one instead of 2
But they said they will wait till next time no problem..)
I have also dropped 78 books... so heres hoping i get some more orders0 -
Well, I didn't order yesterday as only had about £30 worth. AM phoned me up today to ask why I hadn't ordered so I told her. She told me to order on the next one instead.
I also mentioned that my SL had told me you don't need to register as self employed, to which she replied 'No, you don't because it's not a job'. I said 'but it's earning money'. She said 'It's a catalogue'.
Is there something I'm missing?? I rang revenue and customs when I first started and they said I did have to be registered. It actually says on the back of the blue order form that it's self-employed.
I hate to think how many people they're giving this advice to who could get into trouble.Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -

when i phoned up they took details and i said i didn't think that i would hit the tax threshold - but she said it was best to register as self employed anyway because over the year i may earn more that i have in the first few months. it doesn't cost anything to phone up and they will send out an information pack to you. at the end of the day i would prefer to be registered as self employed and all 'above board' than risk the consequences of not telling them. also, if you do apply for a job you can say you are self employed rather than a housewife. i also think that as i am not claiming any benefits and this is my only source of personal income then registering will mean that i pay my national insurance which as far as i am aware counts towards your state pension (if we get one that is!!!).
all in all from reading through lots of information in the various forums i think it is better to be honest even if the total earnings only mean that you break even over the whole year.
loki xit's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:0 -

OMG that is fantastic :T you will defo reach the 700 mark with the couple of orders you still need to pick up. Your probabily right there will be loads of mad people like us out ther too :rotfl: my campaign 17 doesnt go in untill the 17th of this month and ive only got 1 order so farfor £40 but I know ive got a load to pick up from my family and friends before it goes, so im hoping like you have done, to double up wit my territory orders.
Ill let yo9u know how I get on when I collect my books on monday, how my first drop went.

If you want to PM me your postcode I'll get your ASM's details for you.
Those struggling for sales, remember that it can take a little while to find customers and get decent territory - do stick with it, it's worth it in the end.
Johanne, believe it or not the orders are taken off one system then manually inputted into another, so it's perfectly possible that it's Avon's mistake, not yours. Call them and claim that you definitely ordered it and get it sent out!
All those who have been told that they don't need to bother registering for tax or benefit reasons, I think it is about time something was done. COMPLAIN to Avon or name and shame them. They are despicable and deserve all they get - they are lying to people and risking getting them into all kinds of serious trouble just to make a few bob and get a signature. It's plain wrong. And the truth doesn't mean people won't sign up anyway! So far as tax goes, when you are still not earning a fortune you are more likely to be owed tax back than you are to need to pay them! As for benefits, well, as you might have noticed I know quite a bit about the benefits situation, so if the newbie is on benefits I give them a rough idea of how it'll affect them but tell them to contact the jobcentre, and I've NEVER lost a sign-up because of this. At the end of the day my newbies are becoming part of my team, they will become my colleagues and friends, they are earning me money and helping me to achieve my goal... if you're willing to lie to these people, you are a seriously nasty piece of work IMHO0 -
Sorry, I've just realised that I went on a little bit of a rant there, but I've re-read it and actually I stick by what I wrote 100%.0
