My wife got one today; please contact us over a personal matter etc. It is in her maiden name since she has been married over 6 years any debts will be statute barred. Not that we can think of any outstanding debt and the credit report is clear.

I'll worry about it if they send a Court Summons, until then all correspondance goes in the bin.

Please do not bin it, as it may be useful to establish that the alleged debt was wrongly pursued.

interestingly my mother called me this evening as they had one of these call messages when she answered the phone, she pressed a button and got put through to an operator. They asked if *my name* lived at the address, she advised i didn't anymore, they asked if i still lived in enfield road (never have lived at an address even near an enfield road) she said thats not my address but gave them my mobile number. They haven't called me yet, but sounds like they are chasing somebody based on my name only that isn't actually me?!

mackenzie hall strike again! as i have never lived at that address im going to call them tomorrow just to get them to stop calling my mother as its another *my name* from another address altogether.

Do it by letter - don't phone them. Also, don't sign the letter and send it by recorded delivery. There is a very good 'telephone harassment' letter you can use from this site.

Well we've had the second letter. So off has gone the letter linked here before....sent by special delivery so it'll get there Tuesday. Yes I'm panicing, yes I'm worried....and no we don't know who these guys are as we've had no debts apart from the mortgage since I've been with my other half (now about 11 years)

Company listed is Clydesdale Financial Services......certainly no payments for the last 11 years that I know of.

Trouble is the payment date MH say they want is today noon lol.

Oh well, can't do any better in writing than Tuesday.

This time, try to make a mistake when referring to the date of their letter - tell them it was written in May 2011.

With luck, that should get those idiots really confused. :p

So is the right thing to do to send another letter with the right reference number? Or leave it as stands?

Yes, if you want them off you case quickly.

No, if you'd prefer to mess with their silly little 'minds'.

They'll probably not read the letter properly, anyway - they'll just press a button in their Skinner cage, a green light will flash and another morsel of tasty food will drop down the delivery chute whilst, in the basement of MuckHall Towers, an even nastier letter is printed out with your name and address on it.

My mum said it would just make them think that they were worrying and panicing me. ANd that I shouldn't worry about it.

I'm so upset, worried, stressed and confused.

I jsut want them to go away. I can't deal with any of this right now.

I don't want another letter from them. As it will just end up worrying me even more. I'm so scared.
