Is £250 a rip off for major service?

I once got ripped off by MercBenz main dealer who charged me £355 for a service on a... '03 SMART! (just nomral service there was nothing major to change)
Since then I've had another service done but this time went to KwikFit, they had a deal which incl a MOT for £99 but worth a check if they have any offers, but even on normal prices it would be a lot cheaper than what you have been quoted.
As for quality, frankly, I cant fault them, they seem to be professional, friendly and use qlty parts.

Oh grow up child, "taking you on".
Here are a couple of simple facts, the owner commented on his service of the Integra was more, he is speaking from experience and you can't argue with that. I backed that up by telling him why it would be more expensive, because it isn't a parallel import is a grey import.
Both of the above comments are fact and you can't argue with them. Parallel imports are going to be more expensive than vehicles imported by the manufacturer, one because there will be a natural supply of parts and secondly the market will be bigger because they will have been imported in volume as opposed to a handful and therefore the economies of scale and supply will kick in. Thirdly, it is not a middle of the road car, therefore it is going to be more expensive to service.
Now, wind your neck back in.
I never said that it was a grey import nor a middle of the road car. What I am saying is that the service parts are NOT expensive - unless you are going to the wrong kind of garage that rips you off. Nor are the parts for this particular car difficult to obtain. And I KNOW this because I order them in - without any problem whatsoever.

If you go to www.goodgaragescheme.co.uk you can search for independent garages by your postcode. Pick the 10 closest to where you live or work and ring/email them.
This site also allows people to post feedback on the service that they received, so it's in the garage's interest to look after people a bit more. I had a cambelt change and service done on my 12 year old car recently at a garage sourced through this site, and I was very happy with both the price and the service.
Execpt for the fact 2 or 3 garrages near me i wouldn't touch with a barge pole despite one of them having 75 postive comments, i have used both of these 2 a number of time and never again, so i'm sorry but i wouldn't trust the good garage scheme. but that is just my experience of it. i would love to know how these two got into it. becasue neither offer a "service" of any level.
