With Medion be warned..........if you are 1 day out of warranty they will demand £100 up front just to collect & "Have a look" at your computer.
And I dont think their in the same league as ASUS. and Sainsburys will parrot the old "Youve got to get an engineers report for the SOG act", ok probably no worse than others, as long as you know.0 -

Would other manufacturers offer to fix it for free out of warranty??
Sounds perfectly reasonable to get an engineer's report for something more than a year old.
Remember that some Medion machines come with a three year warranty. So they must have some confidence in their product.0 -
Im looking at getting my mum a laptop as she's going to need one for a line of work coming up.
She's currently learning (in classes) how to use a computer, so it doesnt really need to be top end mega good, however I want good value for money and if theres a decent deal out there on a decent model, i'll go for that (I can always use it myself if my Macbook breaks/needs repairing etc).
Bascially all she'll need really is word processing, access to the internet through our wireless home network and basic internet browsing/emails... and being able to utilise the likes of Office etc.
Any ideas?
Ive been looking around and saw things like the Toshiba Satellite or the Asus above from HotUKDeals, would you recommend those? Or any others youd think would be fine?

Hi stay away from Medion. I have a laptop with them awaiting repair for over 2 months. Sent in with a software issue, they then smashed the case to bits and sent me the bill. After many complaints they have now agreed to pay for the repair. Customer service is very very poor I will never buy again from them its clear they don't care. Cheap products cheap support I guess.0

Anyone seen any good deals about recently? our laptop is at the 'doctors' and its not looking good. Seems there are several thinks wrong and im wondering how much it would cost to get a half decent new one if its going to cost a fortune to repair. Will be used for word and internet so doesn't need to be state of the art but will hopefully last a few years0
