Thanks grumpycrab, that's just what I want, from reading hotukdeals it sounds brilliant, so that's what I'll go for. Big savings on it too.
After all, that's what we mser's are about (saving money) :beer:There's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.
Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.0 -
Comet must have bought a bulk load of Asus's, in my local one they only had about 3 other makes, they were all Asus in varying prices, but especially the £300 & £350 ones.0

The Asus X54H deal at Comet (£350) is a great one IMHO.
Bought one for my parents, and it's perfect for what they do - Microsoft Excel/Word (£69 if bought with the laptop), Skype, Internet and some non-graphic/processor intense games. They're just having to get used to a keyboard layout that includes a numberpad (and so am I as I type this!!)
Yes, there's a lot of rubbish on there - which I've un-installed, but for the amount of money it's a good bit of kit.2021

None particularly good value to my eye.
This MEDION® AKOYA® E6221(MD97834) is more attractively priced at £315.95 delivered.0 -
I was looking for a machine yesterday for a relative and found these that looked pretty good:
Medion Akoya E6313 at Sainsburys http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/shop/technology/computing_and_gaming/laptops_and_netbooks/122769846_medion_akoya_e6313_16ghz_amd_e350_156_4gb_500gb_laptop.html?hnav=4294935766
£279.99 is pretty good for 1.6GHz AMD E-350 / 15.6" / 4GB / 500GB. Online or collect instore still available.
I was also looking too at this Currys Lenovo http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/lenovo-g575-15-6-laptop-11358336-pdt.html £279.99 looks good again. 4GB RAM and 64bit too.
Not sure these are considered 'powerful' but they are not the budget end of the market.0
