Student Computers has an A grade Refurbished Toshiba for £249.98 and it has HDMI but this only has a 6 months RTB warranty, although you can pay to upgrade your warranties on that site I believe. Here is the link Toshiba Satellite L450-17Q Laptop - Refurbished Grade A- WAS £349.99
Was means nothing; especially for a second hand machine. In reality it is £275 with a normal 12 month warranty.0 -

Sorry just copied and pasted it from the site, I wasn't meaning to imply anything by it. Just that the poster before wanted a Toshiba with HDMI.Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death.

This is the latest contender I've come up with
Samsung RV510 15.6 inch Notebook (Intel Celeron Dual Core T3500 2.13GHz, RAM 3GB, HDD 500GB, DVDSMDL, WLAN, Webcam, Windows 7 Home Premium) - Black/Silver
for £298.99 from Amazon
Ive just noticed the same computer with 4GB Ram for £311.37 on amazon, which I think is definitely worth the extra £12.
Does anybody know of a similar spec'd laptop for around the same price but with a better processor?
Thanks

Don't know about Fujitsu reliability but this is good if 1.warranty is 2 years (blurb says 1 or 2 years) and 2. you are successful with 7% Quidco cashback.

I think that's very similar to the one which I bought last weekend. It had good reviews for functionality and reliability, and feels solid. I'm happy with it so far (I think any problems are due user error!)0

Hi, I havent read the whole thread, I'm looking for a laptop for my son.
He is in the army so doesnt have a lot of time to look himself, he cant buy one online, he needs one off the high street.
His maximum budget is £400 but the cheaper the better. It needs to be a reliable make, and he will be using it for facebook/watching films mainly. Thanks£100 - £10,0000 -

Hi
I'm new to the site - be gentle with me!! My son goes to university (hopefully) in September and will need a laptop I guess. He is studying PE so not sure how often he will use it, but I want to be able to keep in touch with him via skype, email or facebook. As far as I am aware he doesn't really play games on my laptop, don't know if that matters or not? I went in PC world yesterday and walked around in circles and got very confused! I have up to £350 to spend as it is a present for his 18th. Any help will be gratefully received!! Thanks0
